摘要:
The design of state observers and stabilising controllers for singularly perturbed discrete systems is studied in the paper. Noting the duality between the observer problem and the eigenvalue assignment problem, full-order observers are constructed by a systematic approach, which is based on time-scale decomposition concepts. By applying these results, stabilising problems for singularly perturbed discrete systems with inaccessible states are investigated. Finally, an application to a ninth-order boiler model is discussed.

摘要:
It is shown how globally stable adaptive model following control systems with integral adaptation laws may be designed for nonlinear plants when the nonlinearities are of known form. The controller structure is derived from the standard one used in the linear model following control. The stability proof is based on hyperstability theory.

摘要:
Sufficient conditions are established for the global and local controllability of nonlinear systems of the formx(t)=A(t, x(t), x(t))x(t)+B(t, x(t), x(t))u(t)+f(t, x(t), x(t), u(t)). The results are obtained using the measure of noncompactness of a set and Darbo's fixed point theorem.

摘要:
A method is proposed for the design of constant-gain optimal feedback control laws for discrete-time systems, which reduce trajectory sensitivity to small system parameter variations and ensure the closed-loop eigenvalues at the prescribed locations. The selected performance index is of standard linear regulator type, modified to include a quadratic sensitivity term. An efficient computational procedure, based on direct cost optimisation and using a gradient-type algorithm, is also reported. A case study of a boiling-water reactor power plant has been presented to illustrate the application of the design procedure.

摘要:
The paper examines the errors in spectrum and frequency response estimation when short blocks of data are used. General results for the bias and variance of spectral estimates are presented. Analysis is restricted to stable time-invariant linear systems with stationary white excitation.

摘要:
The Koopmans-Levin (KL) method of parameter estimation of discrete-time linear systems with input and output noise is based on the spectral decomposition of a covariance matrix, which gives approximately maximum likelihood estimates (MLE) if the noise is white Gaussian. In the paper, three robust algorithms, namely the batch method, the sequential updating of the batch solution and the sequential square-root estimation using an information matrix, are developed, based on the singular-value decomposition of matrices. Coding of these algorithms is relatively straightforward using matrix routines available in standard program libraries. The procedures and the properties of the methods are illustrated using published examples.
