摘要:
It is shown that, for a large class of multivariable plants, the design of error-actuated controllers which ensure that excellent set-point tracking occurs simultaneously with disturbance rejection can be readily effected even though the detailed dynamical properties of the processes involved are unknown and the controlled outputs are unmeasurable. The theory is illustrated by the design of analogue and digital controllers for a modern gas-turbine engine.

摘要:
A new similarity block transformation is derived to transform state equations of multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) systems in general coordinates to those of cascade or parallel block canonical forms so that irreducible divisors of the characteristic A-matrix can be determined. Using the obtained complete set of irreducible divisors of the A-matrix, an extended block partial fraction expansion of the matrix fraction description of a MIMO system is developed. Applications of the developed results to the model reduction and the suboptimal block controller design for high order systems are illustrated.

摘要:
An algebraic theory is developed for the design of internally stable control configurations, which consist of dynamic output feedback, inside-loop precompensation, and outside-loop precompensation. The underlying quantity is an equivalent pro-compensator which relates the given system to the desired system, and which may induce unstable pole-zero cancellations. From this equivalent precompensator, the controllers of the final internally stable control configuration are constructed. The main step in this construction involves a partial-fraction decomposition of matrices. The problem of minimizing the outside-loop precompensator (without affecting the transfer matrix of the final system) is considered. For infective systems, the outside-loop precompensator can be eliminated in almost all cases.

摘要:
The problem of pole assignment is considered for three types of output feedback configurations : a combination of dynamic precompensation and dynamic output feedback : dynamic precompensation and unity output feedback ; and pure dynamic output feedback. In all three cases, the conditions for pole assignment depend on certain integer invariants which are determined, roughly speaking, by the unstable poles, by the unstable zeros, and by the zeros at infinity of the transfer matrix of the given system.

摘要:
For time suboptimal control of high order linear systems, low order system representation is frequently necessary in determining the optimal control gain matrix in the feedback control law. A simplification of Chen's (1974) model reduction technique of matrix continued fraction expansion is proposed. An augmented transfer function is introduced, so that with only first order expansion good system representation is obtained, making high order expansion unnecessary. Numerical examples show that dynamic characteristics of the original system are closely preserved and the open-loop response is predicted with good accuracy. Feedback control design based on such reduced model is found to provide good control of the original system.

摘要:
In this paper we present a geometric approach to the stabilizability of linear systems by output feedback. The geometric approach is completely analysed for both discrete time and continuous time single-input-single-output systems. Two examples are worked out in detail to illustrate the theoretical development. We also show how our approach can be extended to dyadic systems. The simplicity of the geometric approach in the special case when the number of inputs or outputs is one less than the order of the system is illustrated with the help of examples.

摘要:
A method is presented for assigning min (n+q, (q+ 1)m+q) closed-loop poles of annth order linear time invariant system (moutputs, linputs,m≥l) using a linear, time invariant, proper, output feedback compensator of orderq. It is also shown how the locations of remaining unassigned poles could be controlled. The compensator parameters are obtained by solving a linear matrix equation.

摘要:
Given minimal dimension realizations for two linear systems with exogenous and feedback inputs, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions under which the feedback interconnection of these two realizations is itself minimal. The conditions involve poles and zeros of certain transfer function matrices, and are relevant in problems of identification of feedback systems.

摘要:
In this paper there is described a new digital controller that is a generalization of the deadbeat controller. The new controller drives the output signal of the closed-loop system to a set value in a prescribed time. In designing the control algorithm, additional conditions in the form of performance indices can be satisfied. These performance indices can have very general forms and therefore it is possible to obtain various features of a closed-loop system. The application of this algorithm can lead to decreasing sensitivity of the closed-loop system to the process parameters as well as to avoiding of uncontrollable transient signals of control and system outputs for step inputs. The new algorithm provides very short settling time and a simple design procedure. The algorithm can be applied for any linear, dynamic plant and provides a stable control. The design possibilities of control algorithms and features of closed-loop system will be presented by examples of linear dynamic processes of the second and third order. The effects will be compared with those obtained by using deadbeat controller and digital PID-controller.

摘要:
A system L consisting of two interconnected subsystems is considered, and local state vector feedbacks are applied to it. It is then proven that if the global system, and the local ones are controllable, E has no fixed modes. That these conditions cannot be relaxed, as well that this property cannot be generalized to more than two subsystems, is shown with some appropriate examples.
