摘要:
New properties of the Schwarz matrix associated with a prescribed polynomial are derived. A matrix analogous to the Schuarz matrix is described which is useful in studying the root distribution of a prescribed polynomial relative to the unit circle.

摘要:
This paper examines a class of linear-quadratic discrete-time games. Attention is paid to the problem of ascertaining the existence of the open-loop and closed-loop solutions as well as to the forms of these solutions for games with a finite horizon. The new contributions of the paper to existing results for this class of games cover the following points : the introduction of the concepts of nonunique optimal strategies, of the pair of ‘ minimum energy ’ optimal strategies, the characterization of the so-called ‘no-conjugate-point condition’ in these discrete-time games. These results also have various implications, showing that this class of games has peculiar features not shared by its continuous-time counterpart. Finally, an attempt is made to extend the results to the case of games with infinite horizon. Only a few explicit results are obtained in this direction, with the main difficulties indicated.

摘要:
A new approach to the problem of assigning all the poles of a multivariable system by output feedback is presented. The problem associated with the allowable A-plane regions for the closed-loop system poles under constant output feedback is investigated. It is shown that under certain conditions, results which can be seen as a natural extension of the classical root-locus ideas can be obtained.

摘要:
In this paper theoretical results are obtained which provide a basis for the systematic design of stabilizing feedback controllers for a class of multivariable linear systems with slow and fast modes. These general results are illustrated by designing a stabilizing feedback controller for a double-integrator plant driven by an actuator with two small time constants.

摘要:
In this paper a basis is developed for the systematic design of linear multivariable continuous-time tracking systems for plants with inaccessible states which thus extends the results for continuous-time plants with accessible states previously obtained by Porter and Bradshaw (1974). The design method is illustrated by the presentation of the results of computer simulation studies.

摘要:
Previous results on the feedback control analysis of dyadic transfer-function matrices are related to the general concept of modal decoupling and the techniques extended to cope with the case of unbounded or singular d.c. matrices.

摘要:
Error analysis for the two kinds of low-order filters is investigated. One low-order filter is an optimal type and the other filter is a sub-optimal Luenberger observer type. As the error analysis, algorithms representing the two actual covariances and the related moments are derived from the nominal dynamical systems and the actual low-order filters whose parameters are misidentified.

摘要:
The optimal linear feedback control law of a class of distributed-parameter systems with space-independent controls is obtained by using a conjecture. This conjecture overcomes the disadvantage of the conjecture proposed by Koppelel al. (1968), and the conjecture proposed by Denn (1968).

摘要:
Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived, using the method of moments, for controllability of a class of distributed parameter systems. Using these conditions a test for controllability of such systems is developed. The test involves checking whether a set of linearly independent elements form a basis for the Hilbert space in which the evolution equation of the distributed system under consideration is described. The test is illustrated by an example. A control-theoretic interpretation is given to the method of moments scheme for solving evolution equations of the type considered.

摘要:
This paper deals with the problem of exact model matching in multivariable systems. The problem is presented using exclusively a transfer matrix for the description of tho system. A solution is obtained by the use of the minimal bases of rational vector spaces.
