It is shown that if a natural state space model is associated with each polynomial system matrix then the similarity of the models is equivalent to the strict system equivalence (s.s.e.) of the system matrices. A minor departure from Rosenbrock's definition of s.s.e. is needed.

摘要:
It is shown that strict system equivalence in Rosenbrock's sense is equivalent to the existence of a certain bijective mapping between the sets of solutions to the differential equations describing the system. This leads to a simple proof of the fact that the equivalence classes under strict system equivalence are well defined, although the dimension of the system matrix is not uniquely defined. It is also shown that equivalence in Wolovich's sense is the same as strict system equivalence.

摘要:
The authors proposed in a previous paper (Prost and Goutte 1976) a new method for linear systems identification. This identification method requires the resolving of a Mellin convolution equation. In this second paper the authors describe the algorithm used to resolve this equation and study its accuracy as well as the effect of noise. They give examples of identification of simulated systems.

摘要:
The general problem of multivariable model-following systems is formulated and analysed. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a solution to the problem to exist are introduced. A condition for a plant with state feedback to follow a lower order model in a stable fashion which is related to the number of the left half plane zeros of the plant is introduced. A detailed checking and design procedure for the general problem that also ensures the stability of the resulting closed-loop system is given and illustrated by means of three examples.

摘要:
A comprehensive discussion is given of the background to the generalized Nyquist stability criterion for linear multivariable feedback systems. This leads to a proof based on the use of the Principle of the Argument applied to an algebraic function defined on an appropriate Riemann surface. It is shown how the matrix-valued functions of a complex variable which define the loop transmittance, return-ratio and return-difference matrices of feedback systems analysis may be associated with a set of characteristic algebraic functions, each associated with a Riemann surface. These characteristic functions enable the characteristic loci, which featured in previous heuristic treatments of the generalized Nyquist stability criterion, to be put on a sound basis. The relationship between the algebraic structure of the matrix-valued functions and the appropriate complex-variable theory is carefully discussed. These extensions of the complex-variable concepts underlying the Nyquist criterion are then related to an appropriate generalization of the root locus concept. It is shown that multivariable root loci are the 180° phase loci of the characteristic functions of a return-ratio matrix on an appropriate Riemann surface, plus some possibly degenerate loci each consisting of a single point.

摘要:
Necessary conditions are derived for optimality of a control in a differential process with an isoperimetric constraint that is not necessarily differentiable. It is found that the gradient of the functional describing the isoperimetric constraint can be replaced by its Gateaux differential. The techniques of mathematical programming and the Dubovitskii-Milyutin theorem are employed. The necessary conditions derived are in the form of an adjoint differential equation and a pointwise maximal condition.
