摘要:
Identities of the larval stage of mites in the family Stygothrombiidae and the Hydraphantid subfamily Wandesiinae are established for the first time. The larvae of both groups are primarily, if not exclusively, stonefly parasites whereas the nymphs and adults are interstitial inhabitants of springs and streams. Motas' (1938) ‘Larve de Kathariner’,Katkarinera motasiVercammen-Grandjean, 1976 and what Immamura (1956) described as the larva ofWandesia japonicaare Stygothrombiids.Hydryphantes altomontanusVitzthum, 1941 is a Wandesiin mite. Stygothrombiids appear to be more closely related to the Hydryphantoid water mites than to the Trombidioidea with which they have been traditionally placed. A new superfamily Stygothrombioidea is proposed, recognizing the unique features possessed by the Stygothrombiids.

摘要:
Two new species of genusFibulanoetusMahunka, 1973, (Astigmata: Anoetidae) are described (F. mahunkaiandF. longitarsis). They were attached to the hairs of Afrotropical scarabeid beetles by means of a clasping organ recalling that of glycyphagid hypopi. A new subfamily Fibulanoetinae is created to receive the genusFibulanoetus.

As inO. artibeiLukoschus and Nutting, both new species are markedly modified for survival as free-ranging demodicids in eyelid fornices or upon the cornea.
