摘要:
AbstractIt has been discovered that certain flowing oilwells in the Eakring area (Nottinghamshire, England), which have not otherwise been disturbed, show distinct annual variations in the flow of total fluid. There appears to be a definite connection between these variations and the seasonal movements of the earth's crustal layers as evidenced by observations of the tilts of the earth's surface. The investigation has been extended further to show that a similar relation exists between the earth tilts and the production of a whole oilfield which has not been disturbed unduly by outside influences.A correlation has also been established between the earth tilt observations and the periodicity of shallow earthquakes.

摘要:
AbstractAbnormal phenomenons such as refractions and diffractions are more readily seen on cross‐sections produced in magnetic processing offices than on single records. The result is that the understanding of these phenomenons intervenes more and more in the interpretation of the data. Our purpose is to proceed here to a restatement of the geometric properties related to these phenomenons and to make an attempt to distinguish between what is useful for the interpretation and what is not.To begin with we shall call our attention on diffractions and refractions over faults permitting to recognize the faults or to precise them, then on diffractions caused by irregularities of the surface forming the common boundary of heterogeneous media (more or less deep erosion surface, basement rock, …). The following phenomenons are classified as parasites:1) refractions following very shallow horizons, mostly related to topographic accidents,2) diffractions on the upward path caused by shallow faults,3) diffractions in the horizontal plane, found either in marine seismic or in case of heterogeneities “wrapt up” inside of an homogeneo

AbstractIt is pointed out that the isostatic correction of regional Bouguer isogam maps is necessary for their interpretation. The work involved in the computation of the necessary isostatic reductions is greatly reduced when isostatic iso‐correction line maps are mad

摘要:
AbstractSeveral methods for eliminating the effects of stray currents on telluric measurements are described. In the Lyon area the source of the stray currents is formed by the tramways of the city. Since Lyon receives no electric current from outside, its influence may be described as that of a conglomeration of dipoles. The law of decay with distance of a source of this type is derived. The constants which interverne in this law are determined experimentally from the observations close to the city, where the telluric field is small compared with that of the stray currents. In South Eastern France it is possible, under favourable conditions, to distinguish on the telluric registrations between the variations of the telluric field and those of the stray current field, due to a difference in character between the two. This permits an isocorrection line map to be drawn. In a survey in Morocco, a base net of telluric values was established by measurements during magnetic storms, when the activity of the telluric field is very strong and supersedes the stray currents. In the routine measurements only those events were utilised which tied in well with the base net.The method first mentioned is discussed in detail. Of the two others only the principles are indicated and some results shown.

摘要:
AbstractThe object of this paper is to present 19 synthetic records recorded on 12 wells in the North Sahara by different methods.A comparaison is made of the synthetic records obtained by different methods:by analogy: United Geophysical Corporation Seismograph Service Corporationby computation: Institut Français du Pétrole Compagnie Générale de GéophysiqueThe method originated by Mr Baranovof the C.G.G. is studied in two cross sections: the first on four wells in the Hassai‐Messaoud field and the second on eight wells in the Anngueur region. The influence of internal and surface multiples on the correlations is very important and explains the reasons for marked variations in the quality of reflections. The problem of the origin of the basis of the stratigraphic correlations furnished by the geologists can be a source of errors. Finally, the comparison between the synthetic and field records indicates that the best results are not always obtained with a synthetic record including multiples. In conclusion, on the North Sahara, where the importance of multiples is preponderant and not readily apparent, and where interpretation is primarily based on continuity, the study of synthetic records including multiples on all exploration wells would appear to be indispe
