&NA;Arthroscopic knot tying is a crucial foundation in the field of arthroscopic surgery. The clinical outcome can be improved with solid understanding of its principle and proficiency on its technique. It is the obligation of surgeons to acquire the knowledge and skills before applying to their patients. The basic principles and techniques of arthroscopic knot tying are described in this article, including the practical way of classifying the knot configuration. The SMC knot deserves special attention in knot tying due to its internal locking mechanism, which has a crucial role in preventing the initial reverse slippage before the additional locking halfhitch throws.

&NA;Elite tennis players place tremendous stress on their elbow. The majority of injuries to the elbow for these athletes consist of overuse type syndromes. This includes lateral epicondylitis, medial tendon injury, or posterior impingement in the majority of cases. Less often, a player may suffer from ulnar nerve or posterior interosseous nerve entrapment or medial collateral ligament insufficiency. All of these disorders are reviewed in detail, including presenting symptoms and signs, physical examination, nonoperative and surgical management, and reported results after treatment.

&NA;The results of cemented glenoid prosthesis are closely related to the surgical technique, the bone stock, and the cuff integrity. Immediate postoperative glenoid lucent lines remain a concern. We describe a surgical technique aiming to diminish the incidence of those lucent lines on the immediate postoperative X‐rays. The technique is detailed, and the results of the first 39 glenoid components implanted using this technique are presented. The instrumentation and the technique used are appropriate for the implantation of any type of keeled glenoid component. The gold standard points of the technique are: absence of glenoid articular surface reaming, slot carried out using osteotome and curette, obtainment of a primary glenoid component stability even before cementing, and the use of a three‐point position polyethylene impactor affording better glenoid component stability while cementing. The immediate postoperative radiographic control showed the presence of lucent line only once of the 39 glenoid componentss (2.56%). The technique we used is easy to reproduce and seems to reduce the incidence of immediate postoperative glenoid lucent lines.

&NA;There has been renewed interest in a semiconstrained total shoulder replacement for patients with arthritis and an irreparable rotator cuff tear. Traditional methods of hemiarthroplasty or glenohumeral arthrodesis do not provide enough improvement in shoulder function to meet patient expectations. This article discusses the design rational, surgical technique, and early results of a custom reverse total shoulder replacement.

&NA;This article presents a simple technique for treatment of the unstable two‐part proximal humerus fracture. Currently, many methods exist to treat this type of injury. This method of intramedullary treatment allows for immediate stabilization and early motion.The procedure has been used successfully in 12 patients with a minimum follow‐up of 2 years. Fracture union was achieved in all twelve cases at an average of 3 months. Seven patients reported excellent results, three reported good results, and two reported satisfactory results. Complications included one case of varus malreduction and one case of impingement‐like symptoms requiring a second procedure to remove the staple.The Evan's staple can be inserted through a 2 cm incision with minimal disruption of the soft tissues. The procedure is simple to perform and provides predictable postoperative outcomes.
