SummaryLung perfusion studies were carried out using99mTc‐MAFH (macroaggregated ferrous hydroxide) on 123 occasions in 100 subjects. Multiple‐view rectilinear scans and scintiphotos were obtained. Good correlation was found on comparison of the two techniques. However, scintiphotography has the advantage of speed, reduced incidence of patient movement artefacts, and less variation in quality. Differences in focusing characteristics between the two systems produce slight differences in appearance and it is important to recognize these.The lateral projection was of great value in the delineation of perfusion defects, greatly increasing the efficiency of either method of examination. SummaryFour cases of marked lower aortic stenosis in women are recorded. Their age group was noted to be lower than in women with lower limb ischaemia from occlusion or stenosis of the lower limb arteries themselves. The similarity of the symptoms of lower aortic stenosis and complete aortic occlusion of slow onset is noted.

SummaryA patient with a recurrent dislocation of the shoulder demonstrated a liphaemarthrosis, with a fat blood interface in the erect film. The extrasynovial fat was also demonstrated about this joint, whose capsule was intact. This is further supporting evidence to the arthrographic findings by Reeves (1969), who demonstrated intracapsular dislocation of the humeral head in recurrent dislocation of the shoulder.
