SummaryAngiographic assessment of cerebro‐vascular disease requires films of high quality and information regarding all extracranial and intra‐cranial vessels. Direct carotid puncture and arch aortography are considered inadequate in several important respects. Four hundred trans‐femoral selective catheter studies have been reviewed to determine if this method offers a practical alternative. SummaryTwo cases of barium granuloma of the rectum diagnosed by rectal biopsy 26 months and 3 months after their last barium enema examinations are described. That a barium enema may require the patient to undergo a rectal biopsy at a later date to exclude carcinoma is a reminder of the constant care required in the performance of this examination.

SummaryIn the present study an attempt has been made to indicate the different types of radionuclide subtraction scan patterns that can occur in carcinoma of the pancreas. A follow up was made of 44 consecutive patients with established clinical or proven histological diagnosis of carcinoma of the pancreas from a total series of 800 who were presented for radionuclide subtraction scanning. The study does not attempt to analyse results in pancreatic carcinoma but merely to indicate the type of scan presentations which can occur. It was interesting to find that more than one third of the patients studied presented with an uptake of75Se Selenomethionine in the tumour region and only a small number of the series revealed the tumour by a filling defect in an otherwise normal pancreatic scan. Despite the differing scan presentations of carcinoma of the pancreas it was generally not possible on the scan alone to differentiate a benign from a malignant lesion. but in each case the scan was clearly abnormal and when taken within the clinical context could well represent a carcinoma.

AbstractKniest syndrome is a rare type of osteochondrodystrophy apparent already at birth.The disease is characterised by shortening both of the trunk and extremities of the rhizomelic type, facial dysmorfism, thickening and decreased mobility of the joints, and progressive myopia and deafness.The radiographic changes are diagnostic. They comprise a generalised platyspondyly, epiphyseal dysplasia, metaphyseal flaring and rectangular iliac bones.The disease is inherited as a dominant trait.
