SummarySerial plasma long‐acting thyroid stimulator levels are documented for five patients with thyrotoxicosis who had L.A.T.S. in their plasma and developed P.T.M. during the course of their disease. In all cases it was found that exacerbation of the patient's shin lesion was associated with a rise in L.A.T.S. and a remission, whether spontaneous or therapeutically induced, with fall in L.A.T.S. The development of P.T.M. in the shin graft donor site on the thigh of one of these patients is described and is shown to be associated with a rise in L.A.T.S. These results strengthen the hypothesis that L.A.T.S. may be the direct cause of P.T.M., probably by reacting with an antigen in the shin tissues. It is further suggested that surgical trauma may be one of the local factors which is a predisposing factor in the occurrence of the conditio

SummaryExperiments are described which fail to demonstrate that oral Vitamin A protects from the burning effects of the sun. Vitamin A tablets taken in the dosage advised for sun‐protection do raise the level of Vitamin A in the serum. SummaryThe disease or syndrome of pityriasis rosea presents an epidemiological challenge and two studies have been performed attempting to link this condition with infectious diseases endemic in the community. No correlation was found in times of incidence of pityriasis rosea and of infectious diseases, and no evidence of mycoplasma infection was found in patients with pityriasis rosea.

SummaryKaposi's Varicelliform Eruption is described and discussed. An account is given of a proven herpes simplex infection occuring in a 57 years old woman on areas which had been affected by a dermatitis four years previously but not since. No other case of this type has been found in the literature. Comment is made on factors which could have had a bearing on this unusual infection.
