SUMMARYThe clinical features of five cases with systemic candidiasis are described. Three types of fever have been observed. Superimposed on different diseases, candida infection followed long term therapy with antibiotics or immunosuppressives. The prognosis depends on the general condition of patients.

SUMMARYThe development and evaluation of chemical agents, intended for use as absorbers of ultraviolet radiation, has made considerable progress since the first sunscreen formulation appeared in 1928. The intended function of these agents is the reduction of erythemogenic radiation, to permit individuals whose skin is not accustomed to the sun to expose themselves to prolonged solar radiation without developing dangerous erythems. The purpose of this paper is to discuss briefly certain aspects of the nature of the agents employed for this purpose, the factors influencing their effectiveness, and the methods employed to evaluate the effectiveness.
