摘要:
AbstractAn analytical solution is obtained for the transfer function of a digital filter which exhibits an optimum maximally flat amplitude characteristic and a maximally flat delay characteristic simultaneously. Explicit values for the multipliers are given for the direct realization in terms of the degree of the network and an arbitrary bandwidth scaling factor. Finally, it is concluded that this type of filter is useful in the area where the degree of a non‐recursive filter becomes excessive to fulfil an amplitude requirement (e.g. narrow bandwidth) and where recursive filters designed solely on an amplitude basis are too dispersiv

摘要:
AbstractIn active RC networks certain nonlinear phenomena may occur due to the nonlinear properties of the amplifiers. It is shown that one of these, the slew rate limitation, may give rise to the jump phenomenon. The class of networks to be studied are described by a third order nonlinear differential equation. The theoretical and experimental results are found to correspond well.

摘要:
AbstractIn the paper basic properties of a new versatile linear active element acting simultaneously as a Differential Voltage Controlled Current Source (DVCCS) and Differential Voltage Controlled Voltage Source (DVCVS) are described. This element called a DVCCS/DVCVS can be used for generation of all linear nondynamic elements and also can be applied directly in active RC synthesis models. The general synthesis model with one DVCCS/DVCVS element and two particular synthesis models derived from the general one are described. All synthesis models presented here allow for cascading the second degree sections without additional buffers.

摘要:
AbstractIt is shown that if there equivalently exist the virtual resistive elements in parallel with the inductive elements of the over‐normal tree of a given linear active network or in series with the capacitive elements of the corresponding co‐tree, an increase in the number of state variables arises. It is also shown that when a virtual resistor equivalently appears in parallel with the distinct resistor in a tree or in series with the distinct resistor in the co‐tree, a decrease in the number of state variables may arise. This is, however, a rare case in the usual types of network. Two algebraic methods for obtaining the state equation of linear active networks are presented. One is useful for the networks in which the decrease in the number of state variables does not arise. From the other, the output equation for the required variables is obtained at the same time as the state equation. Further, the initial values are simply determined without iteration in many

摘要:
AbstractA unified approach is presented for generating configurations for circuits containing one operational amplifier together with RC elements and capable of realizing a general second‐order voltage transfer function. Systematic application of the generation procedure leads to various single amplifier biquads with the known circuits, as well as some new ones, obtained as special cases. The insight gained from the generalized approach as well as the results of a general sensitivity analysis (including the effects of the amplifier limited bandwidth) offer a method for categorizing and classifying single amplifier filters. The different filter classes are illustrated and compared with the aid of extensive design tables. General equations for the effect of the amplifier limited bandwidth are also give

摘要:
AbstractInfinite resistive networks have recently been analyzed by H. Flanders. The present work is an extension of Flanders results in three directions:(1)It analyzes the more general case where the resistances in the network are positive bounded linear operators on a Hilbert spaceHand the currents and voltages are members ofH.(2)An infinite number of sources is now allowed.(3)The network is permitted to have finite loops of doubly infinite paths consisting entirely of short circuits.Conditions are developed under which existence and uniqueness theorems for the set of branch currents can be stated. These conditions include the requirement that all branch resistances be either zero or invertible. The situation where some or all of the resistances have nontrivial null spaces is also considered. In those cases where the branch currents need not be unique for a given set of sources, the difference between two possible current distributions can be characterized as a current distribution that produces zero voltage drops in all branches. An application to time‐varying resistive networks containing switches is also give

摘要:
AbstractAn analytical procedure for generation of a special type of critical monotonic magnitude characteristic, having maximal flatness at a given frequency ω0beyond the origin, with arbitrary transmission zeros, is presented. Compared with the known filters with maximally flat magnitude at the origin and the same transmission zeros, the new filters show distinct improvement in the cutoff performance

摘要:
AbstractArrays of negative resistance tunneling elements can support multimode, multistate oscillations and have been proposed for information processing applications. Published studies have analyzed nonresonant mode interactions by treating the nonlinear tunneling currents as small perturbations on the time‐average behaviour of a linear lossless array, but they have neglected the effects of linear resistive losses. For an array of superconductive tunnel junctions, these resistive losses, treated using the same perturbation formalism, are shown to give rise to mode combinations in which some modes have negative energies, leading to the conclusion that such mode combinations cannot exist physically. Order of magnitude quantitative estimates indicate that such mode limiting effects might well occur in practical arrays and suggest how the array geometry might be modified to minimize these effect
