AbstractThe fundamental vibrational band of oxygen has been examined with a resolution of 0.05 cm−1for theQbranch and 0.40 cm−1for theSandObranches. All lines of theQbranch were clearly resolved exceptQ(1) andQ(3). Calculated molecular parameters agree with those previously reported from microwave and electronic spectra. Line width measurements made in theQbranch and on threeSbranch lines, using a resolution of 0.05 cm−1, are in fair agreement with previously measured and calculated line widths for pure rotational Raman

AbstractThe rotation‐vibrational Raman spectrum of thev11fundamental band of allene has been recorded. The spectrum consists of a series ofQ‐branches and partly resolvedJ‐structure in the subbands. TheQ‐branches in one component of the hot band 2v11–v11have been identified. the following constants have been obtained:v0= 352.73 ± 0.05 cm−1,A0= 4.811 ± 0.003 cm−1, ζ11= 0.816 ± ± 0.001, ΔA= −0.0129 ± 0.0003 cm−1, ΔB= (4.7 ± 0.6) × 10−4cm−1andDK= (2.4 ± 0.1) × 10−4cm−1. 摘要:
AbstractThe presence of three fundamentals in the 545 cm−1region of the vibrational spectrum of sulfuryl fluoride has been confirmed from the Raman spectrum of the liquid. Evidence for the occasional formation of a metastable crystalline form upon solidification of SO2F2has been gathered from the infrared study. The Raman investigation has also shown that the most stable crystalline solid (phase I) is seldom directly obtained upon freezing this compound. Both types of spectra indicate that the two stable crystalline phases (I and II) have well‐ordered, although rather complex structures. The crystals are probably centrosymmetric in both cases, with at least 8 molecules located on general positions of the unit cell. The crystal system is other than triclinic or monoclinic. Cubic symmetry is further eliminated in the case of phase

AbstractThe complete set of fundamental frequencies of NaIO4(tetragonal crystals) has been determined. Raman spectra of NaIO4, 3H2O (trigonal crystals) show that the structure proposed by Burgers is erroneous; a more plausible one is suggested. The angular dispersion of the polar phonons was also studied.

AbstractRaman frequencies for the totally‐symmetric NSi3stretching mode of14N(SiH3)3and15N(SiH3)3have been carefully compared. In the gas phase the isotopic shift is zero within experimental error, which indicates planar trigonal geometry for the heavy‐atom skeleton. AbstractIn order to confirm the assignment of the Raman active internal modes of K2SO4and structurally related crystals, the Raman spectra of oriented cyrstals have been recorded. Using the relative integrated intensities of the bands as data, the transferability of the Raman tensors of the free SO 4−−ion to the crystals was investigated with, in general, good agreement between the calculated and measured intensity distribution. A linear dependence between the frequencies of the internal modes of the K2SO4, Rb2SO4and Cs2SO4crystals and the electronegativity of the cations could be observed.
