AbstractAn attempt has been made to establish axiomatically the principles of biological classification. It is shown that if phylogenetic classification is based on the notion of dichotomous origin of new taxa implied in Hennig's theory of cladism then the outcome must be a hierarchy in the form of a dichotomous dendrogram. Since the rules of traditional classification do not lead to this type of “phylogenetic tree” it is concluded that the conventions of ordinary systematics do not permit the erection of a “natural sy

摘要:
AbstractThe material collected in 1875 and determined by L. Koch has been revised. The material from 1876 has been determined and a list of 197 species from Russia, Novaya Zemlya and Siberia represented in the two collections is given and in addition 14 species collected by the 1875 expedition in Northern Norway.Hybauchenidiumgen.n. of the fam. Erigonidae is established withErigone aquilonarisL. Koch, 1879, as type species.Eboria sibiricasp.n. (Erigonidae), andDiplocephalus cristatus angustieepssubsp.n. (Erigonidae) are described. A list of the species described and recorded by L. Koch in 1879 with the actual names is given.
