摘要:
Paraustrorhynchusgen.n.,P. pacificussp.n. (California),Antiboreorhynchus novzelaesp.n. (New Zealand) andGyratrix proaviformissp.n. (Oregon) are described as new taxa. Additional notes are given onGyratrix hermaphroditusEhrbg. (new localities on the N. American Pacific coast),Scanorhynchus forcipatusKarling (new locality in California),Paraustrorhynchus elixus(Marcus) comb.n. andAlcha evelinaeMarcus (new localities in California). The taxonomy of the genera and species is discussed. Viewpoints are presented on evolutionary trends and homologous atrial organs in the family Polycystididae.

摘要:
Rastrognathia macrostomagen. et sp.n. is described as belonging to Rastrognathiidae fam.n. The ultrastructure is described, especially the nervous and digestive systems and the epidermal specializations. In the epidermis the single cilia belong to the choanocyte‐like cell type. An epidermal sensory cell with several cilia is described. The intraepithelial nervous system shows an orthogon pattern. Two ventral nerve trunks unite into a buccal ganglion. The jaws are secreted by the buccal epidermis. The endoderm consists of a single cell type. The food consists of bacteria. The mesodermal elements consist of six main longitudinal muscle

摘要:
The purpose of this paper is twofold: (1) to review the reproductive systems of the pulmonates in order to determine the inherent trends displayed by this system in these animals. The different elements composing this system, especially those of the pallial region, are homologised and the functional aspects (s. 1.) of the components described, including the origin and evolutionary development of the various prostatic elements of the pulmonates; and (2) to review ideas on and discuss the origin of the hermaphroditism of the pulmonate reproductive systems.

摘要:
The larval structure and the first stages of the post‐larval morphogenesis in the Cyclostomatous BryozoaCrisia denticulata(Lamarck) have been studied with aid of electron microscopy. The various types of cells are described and defined according to a previously proposed terminology; their destiny during the metamorphosis is indicate

摘要:
Growth of adult newts in southwestern Sweden has been studied from 1969 to 1972 in two ways: (1) The age of alcohol‐preserved specimens has been determined by counting dark zones, which are thought to indicate hibernations, on transverse sections of bones (femur or humerus); and average body length and head width of the different age classes have been recorded and compared; (2) Free‐living individuals have been identified by their ventral pattern, and body length and head width in different years have been recorded for each specimen. There was generally a small annual increase in body length and in head width, although the individual variation was large because some do not grow at all. Differences in growth were found between years, between populations and between sexes. It is concluded from these results that size should not be used for estimating the age of adult ne

摘要:
Plumage colouration, using quantitative methods, and size of 320 museum specimens ofButeo buteofrom Sweden were measured. The frequency of extremely pale birds was significantly higher in south Sweden than elsewhere. The amount of reddish colour in the plumage was minimal in central Sweden, rising northwards probably because of connexion with more easterly populations, and southwards probably because reddish pigments to a disproportionate degree persist even after an advanced general depigmentation. Size decreases clinally from south to north and a significant negative correlation was established between size and redness. No trace was found of any demarcation line between two distinguishable subpopulations, nor was there any bimodality in the data collected, and therefore nomenclatorial separation of the north Swedish population seems unjustified. Thus, the western limit ofButeo b. vulpinusmust be located east of the Baltic. Finally, various factors possibly contributing to the complex pattern of variation in the Swedish population ofButeo buteoare discussed.

摘要:
The social behavour of trapped wild rats, laboratory‐bred descendants of wild rats, and agouti laboratory rats, allRattus norvegicus, was compared in encounters between pairs of adult males. Pairs of rats of the same type shared a large cage divided by a partition, which was removed at the beginning of each 20 minute observation period. Ten defined categories of behaviour were recorded. The Wild rats Attacked and Threatened and Ran Away more often than the other groups, while the Agoutis were generally more active, especially in investigatory behaviour, and maintained their initial levels of activity in the second encounter. The third group was intermediate in most respects. These findings are related to differences in genotype and environmen
