AbstractA method is described for the determination of fifteen active ingredients of plant protecting products in ground‐, raw, and drinking water. After extraction and enrichment of the pesticides from the water sample with solid‐phase extraction, the extract is fractionated on silica‐coated TLC plates, first in a so‐called screening gradient by AMD (automated multiple development). The detection of the pesticides is performed by UV multidetection. Positive results from the first separation are confirmed by a second separation on silica in an AMD gradient of distinctly different selectivity, compared to the first separation. Following this strategy, it is possible to distinguish nearly all nonvolatile, from water extractable, active ingredients of plant protecting products in the market. UV spectra are taken for further confirmation of positive results. In most cases, this is possible even at the limit of determination.All chromatograms and spectra shown are raw data, resulting from the confirmatory test DIN 38407 part 11, in the laboratory of one participant*). AbstractWith the method used here, it was possible to determine the isotope content of both the initial compounds and their metabolites formed due to microbial degradation. The chemical analysis showed that the dominating degradation metabolite for both PCE and TCE degradation wascis‐1,2‐dichloroethene (cis‐1,2‐DCE). Apart from this, the formation of TCE,trans‐1,2‐DCE, 1,1‐DCE, chloroethene (VC), ethene and ethane was observed. The isotope analysis showed no measurable fractionation of stable carbon isotopes, for the microbial degradation of PCE and TCE tocis‐1,2‐DCE. AbstractAbwässer aus Textilveredlungsbetrieben wurden mit Hilfe von Biotestverfahren untersucht. Es wurden Fisch‐, Daphnien‐, Leuchtbakterien‐, Hamsterzell‐, Ames‐ und Zahn‐Wellens‐Tests durchgeführt. Grundlage ist die Rahmenabwasser‐Verwaltungsvorschrift, basierend auf § 7a WHG, in deren Anlage bereits mehrere Biotestverfahren aufgenommen wurden. Die Toxizität der Textilabwässer ist im Vergleich zu anderen Industrieabwässern nur in Einzelfällen herausragend. Jedoch ist eine große Anzahl der Proben (27%) der Indirekteinleiter im nativen Zustand mutagen im Ames‐Test. In Folgetests auf Chromosomenaberrationen (V79‐Hamsterzelltest) zeigten darüber hinaus 5 von 9 nativen Proben ein mutagenes Potential. Die Empfindlichkeit der ökotoxikologischen Untersuchungsmethoden wird diskutiert. Die mutagenen Effekte werden auch mit der Untersuchung von Altstoffen und dem Chemikalien

AbstractAerobe mikrobiologische Abbauprozesse lassen sich gut an Hand des Sauerstoffverbrauches verfolgen, für dessen Messung entsprechende Analysenautomaten, wie z. B. der Sapromat, zur Verfügung stehen. Bei Untersuchungen mit (oder in Anwesenheit von) flüchtigen Komponenten geringer Wasserlöslichkeit in gelöster Form oder als zusätzliche Phase treten Störungen auf. So registriert der Sapromat ohne Beteiligung von Mikroorganismen scheinbare Sauerstoffverbrauchswerte, die in der Größenordnung üblicher BSB5‐Werte oder sogar darüber liegen und die physikalisch‐chemisch bzw. meßtechnisch bedingt sind. Die vorliegende Arbeit weist auf dieses Phänomen hin und beinhaltet Untersuchungen zu den Ursachen. Diese werden aufgezeigt und diskutiert. AbstractIn der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden traditionelle und neuartige Adsorberpolymere bei der Adsorption von 1,2‐Dichlorethan aus Wasser untersucht. Dabei konnte festgestellt werden, daß die neuartigen (d.h. nachvernetzten) Adsorberpolymere aufgrund ihrer viel größeren spezifischen Oberfläche wesentlich höhere Beladungen erreichen als die traditionellen (d.h. nicht nachvernetzten) Adsorberpolymere.
