摘要:
The energy principle known from steady hydraulics (i.e. the concept of an energy or total head line and a horizontal energy reference line) has been successfully extended to a dissipative current wave motion over an arbitrary bottom. The shear stress is assumed confined to a thin bottom layer, and the current is vertically uniform. However, it is allowed to have vorticity about vertical axes. The waves are described by a second order Stokian approach.

摘要:
Steady streamings induced in a fluid, oscillating at small amplitudes over a wavy wall in a flume, have been analyzed numerically and observed over a wide range of the Stokes layer thickness. It has been found that the computed streamline patterns of steady streamings agree well with the observed flow patterns.

摘要:
This paper presents the results of an experimental study on the interaction between the flow in a “wide” main channel and the flood-plain. This interaction region has been shown to resemble a shear layer with some control exercised by the bed shear stress. The length scales of this interaction region as well as the reduction and increase of bed shear stress in the main channel and flood plain respectively, in dimensionless forms, have been correlated with D/d, the ratio of the flow depths in the main channel and the flood-plain.

摘要:
A one-dimensional finite differences model, based on the dispersion equation with the proper source and sink terms, is used for the prediction of the cohesive sediment transport under simultaneous conditions of erosion and deposition. The validity of the model is verified from actual field data for the Savannah, USA, estuary.
