摘要:
Cobalt in the six S.A. primary (NIMROCS) and fourteen secondary reference samples as well as in a phosphate rock has been determined accurately by means of atomic absorption spectrometry. A selective and quantitative ion exchange separation procedure, using a 20 g column of AG50W‐X8 cation exchange resin and 0.4 M hydrochloric acid‐86% acetone and 1 M hydrochloric acid‐80% acetone as eluting agents, is employed for the separation of cobalt from all other elements. The accuracy and precision of the described method are demonstrated by the analysis of synthetic rock solutions containing various amounts of cobalt. Abbey's select laboratories method has been applied to the reported data for major and minor elements in the proposed GIT‐IWG reference sample IF‐G. The final values obtained by this method have been compared with the recommended values published by Govindaraju in 1984. Slightly different percentages are suggested for MgO, K2O and Fe2O3T. The importance of applying the Abbey method by participants in co‐operative studies is emphasized. Such an application gives a better understanding of data treatment and of the degree of reliability of published final values; furthermore the objective score obtained for laboratory quality will stimulate participating laboratories to improve their analytical methods and procedures. Results are presented for the determination of trace quantities of cobalt in three South African primary rock standards and in four secondary rock standards. Cohalt is separated from all other elements using a selective ion exchange separation procedure and determined by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrophotometry.

Two bastnäsites ‐ rare‐earth fluocarbonate ores ‐ from Mountain Pass, California, each weighing 40 kg, were ground to ‐200 mesh (75 μm), homogenized, sub‐sampled into 432 containers and issued to interested laboratories for analysis in 1979. The methods used for the determination of rare‐earth oxides, are discussed and the analytical results have been evaluated statistically. 摘要:
The concentrations of 36 elements in geochemical reference samples issued by the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources of China were determined by neutron activation analysis. Three main variants of the technique, instrumental, epithermal, and nreirradiation separation neutron activation analysis (INAA, ENAA, PNAA), were employed in a systematic study of the samples by three laboratories: the Institute of Atomic Energy of the Academia Sinica (INAA, ENAA), the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Academia Sinica (INAA), and the Institute of Geophysical and Geochemical Prosnecting of the Ministry of Geology and Mineral resources (INAA,PNAA). Both long and short irradiations and both Ge(Li) and HPGe detectors were used. A supplementary software nackage for data processing was developed. About 81% of the data determined by neutron activation agreed with recomended values with in 15%.
