摘要:
AbstractA measure of process capability for the multivariate normal case is proposed. This measure takes into account both proximity to the target and the variation observed in the process. The result is analogous to the univariate measure of process capability referred to as Cpm. Some statistical properties associated with the measure are examined. Multivariate specification limits and their creation are also discussed.

摘要:
AbstractThe method, allowing the individual forecasting of reliability for each item of the general totality with availability of corresponding information, has been developed and realised. For the method of item operability forecasting, applications and field conditions are discussed, together with the statement of individual forecasting problem and theoretical forecasting apparatus.The most effective algorithm of piecewise-linear approximation in synthesizing a separating function has been determined for individual reliability forecasting of highly reliable items.This paper considers the problem of choosing the initial set of parameters containing information on item reliability. It has been shown that utilization of a combined algorithm of a directed exhaustion is most expedient for individual forecasting of items reliability.The paper touches upon some results of the method’s practical use as well.The software product and methodology could be discussed on a commercial basis.

摘要:
AbstractA simulation model of a proposed commercial laundry facility at a cleaning company is built using the simulation package PCMODEL. This model graphically represents the proposed system and is used to determine its operating characteristics, e.g. the average queue lengths, product flows and machine utilization. Data used for the simulation are obtained through informal time studies and from files of historical production data. Based on the results of the simulation, it is observed that the proposed system shows no bottlenecks and the machine utilization is at an acceptable level. This project provides a good learning experience of applying simulation to study operation problems in the service industry.

摘要:
AbstractA dynamic model of the human arterial vascular system has been developed to establish a physiologically oriented mathematical description of the vascular system dynamics for the design and parameter-adaptation of entirely artificial heart controllers. To allow an on-line estimation of the model state-space parameters by pressure-measurements of the arterial system, a recursive nonlinear filter algorithm has been used and was tested with simulated data first. The algorithm was then applied to measurements taken in experiments with calves In order to estimate arterial compliance-parameters. Reliable on-line identifiability of the model parameters was achieved with the help of simulated and measured pressure-data with standard deviations of the parameters of less than 6%, resulting In a good congruence between measured and model-predicted data.
