AbstractIn this paper , we show how non linear two point boundary value techniques are used In economics to model the Impact of future expected events on current vari ables. For this, we present a model of a small open economy that combines four major developments of recent macroeconomic research. The Implications for policy evaluations are Illustrated by means of numerical slmulations.

One of the main advantages of bond graph over other dynamic modeling techniques is its unified approach toward coupled multi-en ergy doma in syste ms. The pa per presents application of bond graphs to electroacoustic systems. A sound-powered telephone system is analyzed and modeled. This experimental technique for determination of the system paramet ers is described . Frequency response of the model is compared with th e experimental results obtained from telephone unit . This comparison shows very good agreement between the model predictions and experimental results.

The hydrologic and operational characteristics associated with large surface and ground water systems are generally complex in nature. Decisions related to the best strategy of man agement of such systems have to be made using computer models which are designed to simulate both the physics of water flow a swell as the rules of operation associated with the allocation and distribution of water. A physically based hydrologic model combined with a management model could be used to simulate the physical and the operational behavior of the system. To qualify as a decision making tool for management the models should be computationally efficient to be used a large number of times with acceptable accuracies at reasonable costs. A computationally efficient numerical ground water modeling technique based on the linearsystems theory is presented. The classical Green's function method used for the solution of partial differential equations is extended for cases of finite ground water aquifers with nonhomogeneous physical properties.The computational efficiencies of the technique with respect to the computation time and storage requirements make the models ideally suited for micro and mini computers . The results of a case study conducted using the developed techniques is presented.

A conceptual development of the general simulation methodology and Che computer generation of a mathematical model ofthe ice floes-atructure interaction problem is addressed. The methodology utilizes the discrete event simulation approach with events taking place at irregular-ly spaced time intervals. The formalism of deriving differential equations governing the behaviour of a cluster of floes with a variable number of floes and a variable geometrical arrangement is based on the graph theory concepts.An illustrative example is given.

Passenger flows on a transport mode are believed to depend upon a number of factors such as the fare, journey time, service frequency, population and passengers' Income, as well as competition from other modes.Information on the contribution of each of these factors to the passenger flows 1n a transportation corridor 1s of great importance in the planning, design and operation of the transport services to be provided.In this study, an attempt was made to determine their effect on the air, bus and rail passenger flows between Taipei and Kaohsiung, the two largest cities of Taiwan. For that purpose, stepwise regression was employed to establish the relationship between the flow series of each mode and the pertinent factors. The Box-Jenkins method was used to model the resulting residual series. Application to Taipei-Kaohslung passenger flows, with monthly data available for January 1976 through July 1981, indicated that the combined approach is efficient and easy to use.

In this paper, parallel processing computer system models are considered, in which, each CPU service time of programs subdivides into independent parts (tasks) that can be processed in parallel.Different methods of partitioning a CPU service time into independent tasks are considered. Their effectiveness to system performance with relation to parallel processing with no multitasking in various types of computer systems and for different degrees of multiprogramming and variation coefficients of the CPU service times is investigated.Closed cyclic queueing network models of computer systems are considered where the CPU consists of two iden-tical processors connected in parallel. The results are obtainedusing simulation techniques.

摘要:

This paper extends a matrix method to analyse a three phase dual converter-DC motor drive in circulating-current modewhen both the thyristor bridges are conducting simultaneously. The AC side source impedances have been taken into account in the analysis. A simplified but efficient digital computer program is developed to deal with the periodically varying topology of the system and it is able to automatically assemble the dynamic equations of the system for any mode of operation with the help of a system state array containing the conduc-tion states of the thyristors. The validity of simulation program is tested by comparison of the typical computed results with the analytical results obtained by another approach elsewhere.
