摘要:
AbstractThis paper considers the related problems of designing distributed parameter model following control systems and distributed parameter state observers. The synthesis of a model following control system consists of choosing a feedback law so that the state of a plant will faith fully follow the state of a reference model. The design of a state observer reversly consists of choosing a feedback law so that the computed output signals of the observer follow the measured output signals of the plant.The physical realization of both the real model following control system and the state observer, demand the implementation of a mathematical model of the real plant, which is preferably achieved by computer simulation. Examples of de signing model following distributed parameter systems and of state observer simulations are given.

摘要:
AbstractThis paper discusses The problem of generating confidence limils from the output of a lingle run on steady state characteristics of simulation models. The only assumption made aboul the model is that steady state behavior exists. The method is based on spectral analysis techniques. The variance estimate neceasary for the formation of the confidence interval is obtained by eatimating The spectral density at zero frequency. This estimation is accomplisbed through the application of regression techniques 10 the logarithm of the averaged periodogram in the low frequency region. The method is applied 10 batched data in order 10 keep storage requirements low. The implementation of this method as part of a practical run length control procedure is also discussed.

摘要:
AbstractSemi-active suspensions (as opposed to purely active or passive) have recently been successfully applied to the vibration isolation of ground transportation vehicles [1,3,4,5]. In the present work, a digital computer model of a vehicle incorporating passive and semi-active suspensions is developed using bond-graph modeling techniques. Special attention has been devoted to the modeling of a pneumatic semi-active actuator consisting of a piston-cylinder combination and a controller, composed of an electromagnetic torque motor and a valve. A two-port C-field was used to model actuator compliances caused by air compressibility and air flows, whereas a CR-field summarized the control valve action. From the developed bond graph model the set of corresponding nonlinear differential equations describing the semi-actively suspended vehicle was easily obtained.

摘要:
AbstractThe estimation of non-measurable states and unknown parameters of vibrating systems with an adaptive observer is presented. The adaptation strategy is based on the observation errors,caused by model errors,and can be realized with justi-fiabel effort. The design of adaptive observers is described and simulation results are shown. The exact knowledge of plant parameters,obtained by adaptive observers,allows the realization of efficient state control schemes, including disturbance absorption and servotracking, for telescope driving systems.

AbstractCoumpter models are now being used for computer system evaluation as well as computer tuning. In this respect, the model must be responsive to the hardware/software characteristics and the operating system under control. This paper addresses the problem of developing a model for virtual memory computer systems which fulfills these requirements.A brief description of the 0S/VS2 MVS is presented, discussing in detail, the features which impact the behavior of the model in question. For each class of transactions, three different times are considered: thinking, waiting, and active time. The computer model has two major components or sub-models: the scheduler sub-model and the queueing sub-model. The scheduler submodel involves the mathematical description of the SRM (System Resources Manager) and the task dispatcher. To obtain a simplified version of it (closed-form solution), GPSS has been used as an intermediate tool. The queueing sub-model involves the CPU and peripheral equipment., These components are treated as a network of processors in which a transaction goes from one processor to another, receiving service at each one of them until completion. The network is considered to be closed.To thoroughly validate such a model, an application to evaluate the performance of an IBM/3032 operating under MVS is included. This application is analyzed step by step and comparisons between model results and computer system measurements are discussed. This analysis leads to a systematic approach for computer model development.

摘要:
AbstractIn the first part, the investigated plant and the problem formulation are described: The water power station in question has two turbines of 40 W each. The nest characteristic feature of the plant is that there is no surge tank within the 6 km long water supply tunnel. At the same time, only small pressure increases due to control action are permitted what requests very small rates of change of the guide vane opening. Because of these facts, some stability problems were expected when supplying small networks. It was decided to investigate on these problems by intensive analog-computer simulations. In the second part of the paper the very exact modelling of the installation is outlined, the hydraulic system being the most essential part of the system model. In the third part, the simulation results are described and some compared with the results of field tests carried out at a later date. By the simulation good knowledge of critical operating conditions oould be established and it was found out that the real system would have become unstable under certain conditions. By means of the simulation, this instability oould be eliminated by adding a ccmpensation circuit to the controller. The idea of designing this additional circuit is outlined. The results of field tests proved the reliability and the success of the simulation.
