The population dynamics of different bacterial groups with antifungal properties was investigated in comparison with total bacteria based on colony forming units for successful biological control of the soil‐borne pathogenVerticillium dahliaevar.longisporumStark causing tracheomycosis of oilseed rape. This is the first report about bacterial population densities of a plant with a winter annual life cycle. Population densities of colony forming bacteria of oilseed rape (Brassica napusspp.oleiferaMetzg. Sinsk.) were significantly lower in autumn and winter than in spring and summer. The number of antifungal bacterial populations like fluorescent pseudomonads,Bacillus spec.(spores) andStenotrophomonas maltophiliaalso increased during life cycle. The percentages of antifungal isolates were 7 % on average and relatively stable during time of investigation as estimated by a bioassayin vitro.The antifungal mechanisms of 10 different isolates of each selected taxonomic group were investigated. The mechanisms were specific for each isolate. All of these selected strains showed antifungal activity againstV. dahliaevar.longisporum in vitroand therefore, they were evaluated as potential biocontrol agents against this pathogen.

摘要:
Cold storage and application of six fungicides ‐ Captan, Cupravit, Benlate, Dithane M45, Brestan and Borax as well as storage in open laboratory, farm bans and soil pits were separately evaluated againstRhizoctonia bataticolacausing black rots of potato(Solanum tuberosumL.). Also tried against artificial or natural infections of potato in the laboratory was low temperature in combination with either Captan or Benlate.

摘要:
Subcellular changes during Phytophthora infection on betelvine are studied. Haustorial penetration of the fungal mycelium is accompanied by degradation of host cell wall. Appearance of membrane bound lipoid bodies and amorphous structures leading to degeneration of host cytoplasm was observed. Considering the economic significance of the betelvine plants, information on the pathogen and host interaction in this species gains significance.

In the south‐western part of Iceland virus‐like symptoms were observed on various plant species asBetula pubescens, Epilobium angustifolium, Geranium syhatkum, Lupinusnootkatensis, Paeonia peregrina, Sorbus ancuparia, Stachys betonicifolia.A mechanically transmissible virus could be isolated fromE. angustifolium.By investigating the host range and by immunoelectron‐microscopical and serological methods the isolated virus was identified as turnip mosaic potyvirus. Thus, a plant pathogenic virus was detected in Iceland for the first time.

摘要:
Die Behandlung von Zuckerrübensaatgut mit Furadan und anderen systemischen Insektiziden auf der Basis des Wirkstoffes Carbofuran wurde im ukrainischen Zuckerrübenanbau etabliert. Sie ist ökonomisch und ökologisch vorteilhaft gegenüber anderen Anwendungsformen von Insektiziden. Die biologische Effektivität gegenüber den RüsslerartenBothynoderes punctiventrisGerm undTanymecus palliatus(F). Erdfioharten(Chaetocnemaspp.) und Moosknopfkäfer(Atomaria linearisSteph.) ist zwar abhängig von Witterung, Dosis und Saatgutfraktion, aber in der Regel ausreichend. Gegenüber der Rübenblattlaus (Aphis fabaeScop.), Rübenminierfliege(Pegomya hyoscyami(Panz.) sowie Drahtwürmern(Elateridae‐Larven) ist die Wirkung stärker von Aussaattermin und Witterung abhängig. Die Phytotoxizität wird vom Humusgehalt des Bodens und seiner Feuchtigkeit, dem pH‐Wert, der Bodenart, aber auch der Saatgutfraktion beeinflußt. Eine kurzzeitige negative Beeinflussung bodenmikrobiologischer Aktivität wurde festgestellt, jedoch erwies sich die Aussaat behandelten Saatgutes praktisch ohne Einfluß auf die epigäische Nützlingsfauna.

A new bacterial disease of linden on territory of the Ukraine is described. Typical symptoms of disease are a premature yellowing and falling of leaves in adult trees are complete dryness of young trees. Biological properties of the pathogen distinguished from typical speciesPseudomonas aeruginosaand fluo‐rescentic phytopathogenic bacteria (P.syringae pathovars, P. viridiflava, P. marginalis, P. cichory)of the genusPseudomonasand appears to be unique.

Parlatoria date scale females release pheromone when they are approximately 10 days old. Parthenogenesis has not been observed in all tested females. Males showed a pattern of morning‐crepuscular activity in the field in response to sex pheromone.
