摘要:
This paper describes the development of a computer system that determines process names, machine tools and so on in production system design. We have proposed multiobjective evaluation reasoning including neural networks learning. The reasoning acquires utility functions by using knowledge database for machine tools. Machine tool costs that are not clarified and are not also beforehand described in the knowledge database are presumed by the neural network and used in multiobjective evaluation reasoning. The networks have three—layered neuron construction. Because of the networks, the system can quickly presume the rough costs for machine tools.

摘要:
Whatever the management system, production hazards, delays, urgent orders cause many disfunctioning. This leads to differences between the real inventory level and the level required by the management system. Is it possible to remedy this? In certain cases, IBM Montpellier answers this question by developing a bottom—up replanning approach called implosion. Its use enables perception of different possible scenarios to manufacture end—products per period, as well as the probable induced consequences. In this article, we first describe this solution in the manufacturing context, its principles and limits, as well as the industrial probe that permitted us to establish an enterprise typology based on the possible use of implosion. Then, the theoretical concept is presented and the NP Hard problems contribution to this approach. Finally, we present the different techniques envisaged to solve it.

摘要:
This paper addresses the problem of machine selection in the design of flexible manufacturing systems. The proposed heuristic considers the flexibility of machines and the alternate routes for each part to be processed in order to determine the number of machines of each type to purchase and the tasks to be assigned to each of them. The heuristic is divided into two parts. The first part attempts to load and unload machines to improve the annual cost from an initial solution. The second part will attempt to further improve the annual cost by balancing the workload among the machine types. An overview of the heuristic is given and some numerical results obtained for a number of examples are presented. The heuristic generates, in short time, a good feasible solution compared to an optimal one obtained by solving an integer programming model for the same problem. The tests performed show that the proposed heuristic is more performant when used for large size problems.

摘要:
The goal of collecting data resulting from activities of manufacturing workshops is to facilitate the workshop control and to feed all decision levels with adequate, updated and reliable information. On each level, decision making needs information relevant to: time, quality and cost. So corresponding data must be identified and stored, then processed and provided adequately and efficiently for each decision activity. Looking for this goal, we propose a global approach for manufacturing data organisation and a methodology for implementing this organisation on a large variety of production systems. The approach is based on events and states identification of main manufacturing entities, then on their storage in an adequate data base structure. The approach interests are underlined and practical examples are given.

摘要:
This paper deals with dynamic production scheduling in a discrete manufacturing environment. Current MRPII methods do not allow scheduling to be handled easily while alternative, e.g. ‘pull’ methods, such as Kanban, require a stable environment—contrary to the flexibility demanded by rapid market changes. A new approach is therefore required to support production and schedule planners in their day-to-day activities. The approach presented here was developed in the scope of the European projects ESPRIT and EUREKA. It combines the expertise of the planner with the data gathering and processing ability of the computer in order to simulate planning strategies and ultimately obtain a good workplan. A decision support system based on a software package called Interactive Cell Integrated Management (ICIM) illustrates the approach presented here with an industrial implementation.

摘要:
In this paper, which integrates an operation research and knowledge—based approach, is developed for building of scheduling models. The tandem system captures all features of models and supports the model management. The concept of a “knowledge object” that combines production rules and object—oriented representation scheme in introduced. A model representation scheme based on the “knowledge object” is developed and provides a hierarchical, modular, and easy to understand knowledge structure of the system. The hybrid knowledge representation scheme leads to an integrated system for model representation and inference. The framework of the system, based on the object—oriented approach and blackboard model, not only integrates the qualitative and quantitative aspects of problem solving but also enhances the model management capacity.

摘要:
In this paper we consider the problem of production management within a steel manufacturing system, which produces a wide range of articles. The aim of this study is to propose a decision support system for this firm, in order to make the due dates reliable. First we describe the context of the problem and the production process. Then we define aggregate levels for machines, products and time, and we describe a model based on a hierarchical representation, which consists of three units: long term, medium term and short term.
