摘要:
A 52-year-old man with long-standing craniofacial polyostotic fibrous dysplasia (FD) and no history of prior radiation therapy developed a spontaneous right temporal bone osteosarcoma. Such spontaneous sarcomatous degeneration of FD is rare, particularly in the calvarium/skull, where, to our knowledge, only six prior cases have been reported in the literature. We report this case because it is a rare entity with well-documented CT and MR images, and to emphasize the importance of depicting imaging features of sarcomatous degeneration among the complex imaging findings of FD.

摘要:
A 29-year-old man presented with milk of calcium that completely filled the right-sided renal collecting system and ureter and was thought to be a giant renal calculus. Plain radiographs and computed tomographic findings of this rarity, which has not been reported previously, are reviewed.

摘要:
Among the hepatic haemangiomas with atypical features when studied radiologically, the multicystic type is extremely rare. We report a case of multicystic hepatic haemangioma in a 62-year-old woman, which was found incidentally during ultrasound screening. Because the tumour showed atypical features on ultrasonography, CT and MRI, the correct diagnosis was not made until the surgery. In this report, the atypical radiological findings are illustrated and correlated with pathological findings.

摘要:
Primary intraventricular haemorrhage is a rare presentation of a dural arteriovenous fistula. We describe the case of a 52-year-old woman with a past history of idiopathic intracranial hypertension who presented with sudden-onset severe headacheThe CT scan on admission showed primary intraventricular haemorrhage with no associated haemorrhage in the brain parenchyma or the extra-axial compartmentThe cerebral angiogram demonstrated a dural arteriovenous fistula involving the left sigmoid and transverse sinuses which was successfully embolised transvenously. Subependymal venous congestion and rupture secondary to retrograde venous drainage has been proposed as the cause for this presentation.

摘要:
We report imaging findings in a case of idiopathic localized dilatation of the ileum (ILDI). CT revealed a large cystic mass containing air in the pelvic cavity. Sonography showed a cystic lesion with internal echo in the pelvic cavity. In addition, slow peristaltic movement was seen in the lesion. Small bowel series showed a bilobular dilatation of the ileum with two narrow transitions connecting the proximal and distal bowel loops.

摘要:
We herein report a case of lesser sac herniation through a defect in the transverse mesocolon. In addition to CT signs suggestive of bowel obstructions, there are some characteristic CT findings in this extremely rare type of internal herniation, which include clustering of distended jejunal segments directly compressing the pancreas, displacement of the stomach anterolaterally, displacement of the transverse colon anteriorly and a normal appearance around the foramen of Winslow.

摘要:
Isolated pulmonary cryptococcosis remains a rare entity among pregnant or parturient patients who are immunocompetent, with few documented cases in the literature. We report a case of massive mediastinal lymphadenopathy in an immunocompetent pregnant patient with isolated pulmonary cryptococcosis. The unusual radiographic presentation of the present case merits special emphasis. Cryptococcal lymphadenopathy has a low prevalence in immunocompetent hosts and is more usually associated with an immunocompromised status. The occurrence of massive cryptococcal lymphadenopathy in an immunocompetent host is rare with previously reported cases occurring in non-pregnant patients.

摘要:
Severe hypernatremic dehydration can cause serious neurological complications in neonates. The most significant problems include brain oedema, intracranial haemorrhage, sinus thrombosis, haemorrhagic infarcts and permanent brain damage. The symptoms of many of these complications are similar. With respect to brain MRI findings in hypernatremic neonates, this is a report that describes linear lesions that represent intracranial haemorrhage at the grey–white matter junction. These MRI findings may be helpful for diagnosing hypernatremic dehydration, and for ruling out differential diagnoses for complications of this disorder.

摘要:
An intrathoracic gossypiboma is a rare condition. Moreover, intrathoracic gossypibomas with intrapulmonary location are extremely rare and only a few cases of intrapulmonary gossypiboma have been published. Usually gossypiboma has the characteristic CT appearance of a soft tissue mass with high attenuation, air bubbles and a whirl-like pattern, but its radiological manifestations may be variable according to the location and chronicity of the sponge. We report a case of intrathoracic gossypiboma initially misdiagnosed as an aspergilloma owing to its intrapulmonary location and air crescent sign on CT. In addition, our case will show morphological changes of the gossypiboma on CT during the 10 year follow-up period and correlate the CT findings with pathological results.
