AbstractThe paper deals with the existence and uniqueness of a solution of a variational inequality for the obstacle problem of the shallow shell reinforced with stiffening ribs. The obstacle problem is the formulated as a direct variational problem. Next we construct a finite element approximation of the obstacle problem, and we prove an error estimate of the approximation.

AbstractGas‐particulate flow through the curved pipe is analyzed in order to study the effect of the secondary flow on the volume flow rate at given pressure gradient.
