Neben den üblichen therapeutischen Maß‐nahmen wird auf die Behandlung mit dem Benzodiazepinderivat, und zwar dem Diazepam (“Valium” Roche) und Medazepam (“Nobrium” Roche) hingewiesen.SummaryAfter discussing the aetiological factors the diagnosis of male cohabitation unability is outlined; the seminal picture of hyperzoospermia is stressed. SummaryThe sodium, potassium, glutamate oxalacetate transaminase, glutamate pyruvate transaminase, alkaline phosphatase, acid phosphatase, lactate dehydrogenase and malate dehydrogenase were assayed in the seminal plasma of 25 healthy males (controls) and of 129 males with chiefly inflammatory conditions of the reproductive system. The diagnostic value of the above parameters was checked by comparison with the clinical statuts and the morphology of semen. The activities of lactate dehydrogenase, malate dehydrogenase and acid phosphatase were lowered in all pathological groups including the patients with “functional disturbances” of the reproductive system. These enzymes may be used as sensitive indicators in the early diagnosis of diseases of the male reproductive system.Glutamate oxalacetate transaminase and glutamate pyruvate transaminase become elevated later on and attain highest values in oligoasthenozoospermia. Alkaline phosphatase, potassium and sodium are of limited diagnostic importance.ZusammenfassungDer Elektrolytengehalt von Kalium und Natrium, wie auch die Enzymaktivitäten der Glutamat‐Oxalacetat‐Transaminase, Glutamat‐Pyruvat‐Transaminase, alkalische und saure Phosphatasen, Laktat‐ und Malat‐Dehydrogenasen sind in dem Spermaplasma von 25 gesunden Männern (Kontrollgruppe) und bei 129 Patienten mit vorwiegend entzündlichen Erkrankungen des männlichen Genitalsapparates studiert worden.Um die diagnostische Bedeutung dieser biochemischen Parameter zu beurteilen, sind diese mit dem klinischen Befund und mit der Spermalmorphologie verglichen worden.In allen pathologischen Gruppen, einschließlich der “Funktionalstörung” waren die Aktivitäten der Laktat‐ und Malat‐Dehydrogenasen und der saure Phosphatase herabgesetzt. ZusammenfassungEs wird eine Analyse der Altersstruktur in je einer Gruppe von 2087 Männern und 651 Frauen mit funktionellen Sexualstörungen vorgenommen. In der Gruppe der Männer sind zwei Gipfel der Altersverteilung zu beobachten: der erste, höhere zwischen dem 21.—25. Lebensjahr und der zweite, niedrigere, in der Altersgruppe um die Vierzig herum. Die größte Anzahl sexuologischer Patientinnen wurde zwischen dem 21. bis 30. Lebensjahr untersucht.Durch die Analyse der dritten Gruppe von 600 Männern mit Störungen im Geschlechtsleben wurde ermittelt, daß bei etwa einem Drittel der Patienten die funktionellen Beschwerden beim Übergang ins volle heterosexuelle Leben auftreten. Die restlichen zwei Drittel bilden Patienten, die bereits vorher eine Periode erfolgreicher Geschlechtsbeziehungen hatten.Bei den Männern waren Erektionsstörungen das häufigste pathologische Symptom (51%), an zweiter Stelle folgte vorzeitiger Samenerguß (16,5%) und an der dritten das Syndrom “sexuelle Frigidität” (12%). Bei Korrelation dieser Symptome mit dem Alter ergab sich, daß Patienten mit einer Ejaculatio preacox am häufigsten zwischen dem 26.‐30. Lebensjahr, Patienten mit “sexueller Frigidität” zwischen dem 46.‐50. Lebensjahr zur Untersuchung kamen. Erektionsstörungen zeigen mit zunehmendem Alter eine kontinuierliche Zunahme.Frauen wurden am häufigsten wegen Anorgasmie oder herabgesetzter Orgasmusfähigkeit untersucht. Das zweithäufigste Symptom war schwache oder gar keine Sexualappetenz. Die Korrelation dieser Symptome mit dem Alter ergab — zum Unterschied zu den Männern — keine alterstypischen Höhepunkte in ihrem Auftreten.SummaryAn analysis is made of the age‐structure of groups of 2.087 men and 651 women with functional sexual disturbances. In the group of men, there are two peaks in the incidence of patients: the first, a higher one, between 21 and 25 years, and the second, a lower, in the subgroups around 40. The greatest number of sexological female patients were examined at the age of 21 to 30 where this peak is comparatively higher than in the case of men. The analysis of a third group of 600 men with disorders in sex life has established that approximately one third of patients have functional difficulties in the period of transition into full heterosexual life. The remaining two thirds are composed of patients who have already passed through the stage of successful physical contacts.In men the most frequent pathologic symptom was disturbance of erectivity (51%); the second place was occupied by premature ejaculation (16.5%); and the third, by the syndrome of sexual frigidity (12%). The correlation of these syndromes with age has brought out that complaints of ejaculatio praecox were made most frequently by men between 26 and 30 years of age, those of sexual frigidity by men aged 46 to 50 years. On the other hand, disturbances of erectivity showed a steady increase with advancing age.Women were most frequently examined for a complete absence of orgasm during coitus or its very rare occurence. The second symptom, in order of frequency, was the weak or non‐existent sexual appetence. The correlation of these symptoms with age has not shown — contrary to men — any distinct peaks in their incidence.RésuméOn fait l'analyse de la structure d'âge d'un groupe de 2.087 hommes et d'un groupe de 651 femmes, atteints de désordres sexuels fonctionnels. Dans le groupe masculin, il y a deux sommets dans le nombre de malades: le premier, plus haut, entre 21 et 25 ans, et le deuxième, plus bas, dans les sous‐groupes autour de 40 ans. La grande majorité des femmes examinées étaient âgées de 21 à 30 ans où ce sommet est relativement plus haut que chez les hommes. Une analyse d'un troisiéme groupe de 600 hommes atteints de troubles sexuels a montré qu'environ un tiers de malades avaient des difficultés fonctionnelles pendant la période de transition à la vie hétérosexuelle complète. Les deux autres tiers étaient composés de malades qui avaient déjà passé précédemment par la période de rapports sexuels normaux et réussis.Chez les hommes, le symptôme pathologique le plus fréquent était représenté par des troubles d'érectivité (51%); la deuxième place appartenait à l'éjaculation précoce (16.5%), et la troisième, au syndrome de frigidité sexuelle (12%). Le rapport réciproque entre ces symptômes et l'âge a montré que les hommes qui souffraient d'ejaculatio praecox étaient âgés le plus souvent de 26 à 30 ans, alors que ceux qui étaient atteints de frigidité sexuelle avaient de 46 à 50 ans. ZusammenfassungNach viertägiger Applikation von Parachlorphenylalanin (PCPA) (PCPA‐methyl‐ester ˙ HCl 100 mg/kg tägl., i. p.) konnte bei weiblichen Ratten eine Hypersexualität ausgelöst werden, die durch Kombination von PCPA mit Testosteron (Testosteronönanthat 1,4 mg/kg tägl., i. m.) erheblich gesteigert wurde. Als Ursache wird der Ausfall der inhibitorischen Wirkung des Serotonins auf die hypothalamisch‐hypophysären Regulationszentren diskutiert. Gestützt wird diese Auffassung durch den Nachweis einer Anreicherung von14C‐markiertem PCPA in den die Sexualität beeinflussenden Arealen des Gehirns.SummaryFemale rats treated with parachlorophenylalanine (PCPA) (PCPA‐methyl‐ester ˙ HCl 100 mg/kg P. ZusammenfassungIn den dystopen Hoden der Tiere mit hereditär bedingter unilateraler Ectopia suprainguinalis liegt eine Spermatogenesestörung vor, die vor der Pubertät beginnt und mit zunehmendem Tiergewicht fortschreitet. Zur Bestimmung des Ausmaßes einer solchen Störung wird eine Integrationsmethode vorgestellt.Bezüglich der prozentualen Häufigkeit der Zellen im Keimepithel der eutopen Hoden der Tiere mit unilateraler Deszensusstörung und der Hoden der gesunden Kontrolltiere läßt sich kein Unterschied nachweisen: Die Spermatogonienhäufigkeit sinkt von ca 22% bei einem Körpergewicht von ca. 50 g auf weniger als 10% bei einem Gewicht von ca. 280 g; die Spermatozytenhäufigkeit in dem gleichen Intervall von mehr als 65% auf ca. 30%, und die Spermatidenhäufigkeit steigt von anfänglich ca. 12% auf mehr als 60% an.Bei den dystopen Hoden steigt die Häufigkeit der Spermatogonien von ca. 27% auf ca. 50%, während die der Spermatozyten von ca. 72% auf ca. 50% und die der Spermatiden von weniger als 2% auf 0% abfällt.Die Dicke der Tubuluswand beträgt bei den eutopen Hoden der Tiere mit unilateraler Deszensusstörung und den Hoden der gesunden Kontrolltiere ca. 1 μ, während die der dystopen Hoden im Verlauf der Pubertät auf ca. 2 μ ansteigt.Im Zwischengewebe der Hoden der Tiere mit unilateraler Deszensusstörung lassen sich, besonders in den dystopen Hoden, eosinophile Granulozyten nachweisen.Es wird angenommen, daß dem Keimepithel der dystopen Hoden Testosteron infolge der Tubuluswandverdickung nicht in ausreichendem Maße zur Verfügung gestellt werden kann.SummaryAn arrest of spermatogenesis could be shown by means of the newly developed integration method in the dystopic testicles of rats with hereditary unilateral, suprainguinal testicular ectopy. The process was found to begin prior to sexual maturity and to progress with the increasing weight of the animals.A comparison of sperm maturation in the eutopic testicles of animals with unilateral testicular ectopy and in the testes of healthy control animals failed to show any significant difference. In both groups the seminiferous tubules of prepubertal animals (50 gm body weight) contained approximately 22% spermatogonia as compared to less than 10% in mature animals (280 gm body weight). The percentage of spermatocytes showed a decline from ca. 65% in the former to ca. 30% in the latter group, while the spermatids rose from ca. 12% to more than 60%.Contrary to this, in rats with unilateral testicular ectopy the percentage of spermatogonia rose from 27% in prepubertal animals to ca. 50% in mature animals, while there was a fall of spermatocytes from ca. 72% to ca. 50% and of spermatids from less than 2% to 0%.In dystopic testicles the basement membrane of the seminiferous tubules was found to be twice as thick as in the eutopic testicles or those of healthy controls.The interstitial tissue of dystopic testicles contained eosinophilic granulocytes, which could not be demonstrated in control rats.It is proposed that the thickening of the basement membrane of the tubular wall plays a role in the pathogenesis of disturbed sperm maturation in dystopic testicles, as it might prevent testosterone secreted from the interstitial cells from reaching the germinal epithelium in sufficient amounts to assure normal spermatogenesis.RésuméDans les testicules dystopiques des animaux qui souffrent d'un déplacement unilatéral, susinguinal, héréditaire, du testicule il y a des troubles de spermatogenèse qui se déclare déjà avant la puberté et qui augmentent avec le poids de l'animal. Une nouvelle méthode d'integration a été développée pour démontrer l'étendue d'un tel trouble.On n'a pas pu constater une divergence du pourcentage de la fréquence des cellules dans l'épithélium germinal des testicules eutopiques des animaux souffrant d'une descente unilatérale anormale et des testicules des animaux de contrôle normaux: La fréquence des spermatospores baisse d'environ 22% au poids d'environ 50 gr à moins de 10% au poids d'environ 280 gr. Quant à la fréquence des spermatocytes elle diminue de plus de 65% à 30% approximativement; et la fréquence des spermatides augmente d'environ 12% à plus de 60%.Quant aux testicules dystopiques la fréquence des spermatospores augmente d'environ 27% à 50% tandis que celle des spermatocytes ainsi que celle des spermatides est réduite, pour les spermatocytes de 72% environ à environ 50%, pour les spermatides de moins de 2% à 0%.L'épaisseur de la paraoi membraneuse des tubules est à peu près 1 μ dans les testicules eutopiques des animax souffrant et des animax de contrôle normaux, tandis que celle des testicules dystopiques monte à 2 μ environ pendant la puberté.Dans l'interstice des testicules des animaux malades on peut découvrir des granulocytes éosinophiles surtout dans les testicules dystopiques.On suppose que, à cause de l'augmentation de l'épaisseur de la paroi des tubules, l'épithéli

SummaryDescription of a method of “semi‐quantitative” scoring of testicular biopsies. The following degrees of spermatogenesis are distinguished: regular spermatogenesis, hypo‐spermatogenesis, three degrees of spermatogenetic arrest, aspermatogenesis (depopulation) and complete fibrosis. At least fifty tubules in the biopsy are first evaluated as to their state of spermatogenesis and separately for the presence or absence of signs of desorganisation. As additional data are noted: the inner diameter of the tubules, the thickness of the tubular wall and the number and activity of the cells of Leydig.Those data, presented in the form shown above, enable the clinician to “read” the pathologist's report at a glance. —ZusammenfassungBeschreibung einer Methode zur “semi‐quantitativen Beurteilung” von Hoden‐Biopsien. SummarySemen samples of 1375 cases attending the andrology section, Hamburg University during eleven months period were examined. Sperm autoagglutination was detected in 130 cases (9.45%). Clinical examination of 72 cases including 56 cases complaining of infertility (44 primary sterility) was carried out. Autoagglutination was the only abnormality detected in 12 couples with primary sterility. Pregnancy occured in two of the patients during the period of study.By studying the morphology of spermatozoa in 72 cases, no relation could be found between the occurance of sperm autoagglutination and the frequency of abnormal forms. By microagglutination test serum sperm agglutinins was found in two out of 32 examined. Using the indirect immunofluorescent method, 12 sera showed positive reactions in low titres. It was concluded that autoagglutination can be explained on immunological basis only in a minority of cases.The significance of sperm autoagglutination in relation to fertility is discussed.Zusammenfassung: Die Spermaproben von 1375 andrologischen Patienten wurden hinsichtlich des Phaenomens “Autoagglutination” untersucht. Dabei ergab sich in 130 Fällen (9,45%) ein positiver Befund. Bei 12 Fällen war die Autoagglutination die einzige Abnormalität bei diesen 12 primär sterilen Ehen; in zwei dieser Fälle kam es während der Beobachtungszeit zu einer Gravidität.Eine genaue Untersuchung der Spermatozoenmorphologie ergab keine Beziehungen zwischen der Autoagglutination und einem gehäuften Auftreten von pathologischen Spermatozoen. Mittels des Mikroagglutinationstests wurde in 2 von 32 Fällen ein positiver Befund erhoben im Blutserum dieser Patienten. Die indirekte Immunfluorezenzmethode zeigte bei 12 Fällen mit niedrigem Titer positive Reaktionen. Es wird festgestellt, daß die Autoagglutination der Spermatozoen bei einer geringen Anzahl von Patienten als immunologisches Phaenomen erklärt werden kann.RésuméDans le départment d'Andrologie de l'université de Hambourg, le liquide spermatique de 1.375 patients fut examiné au cours d'une période de 11 mois. Une auto‐agglutination spermatique fut découverte dans 130 cas (9,45%). On fit un examen clinique de 72 cas parmi lesquels 56 étaient atteints d'infertilité (dont 44 stérilités primaires).La seule anomalie découverte chez 12 couples souffrant de stérilité primaire se révéla être l'auto‐agglutination. En cours d'étude, deux patientes furent enceintes. En étudiant la morphologie des spermatozoides de 72 cas, on ne découvrit aucune relation entre l'apparition d'auto‐agglutination spermatique et la fréquence de formes anormales.Par le test de micro‐agglutination, des spermagglutinines sériques furent mises en évidence chez 2 des 32 sera examinés.La méthode de l'immunofluorescence indirecte révéla des réactions de titre faiblement élevé pour 12 sera.
