摘要:
This paper examines a formal simplification of fixed capital systems of the Sraffa type (1) by means of an extension of the reduction to dated quantities of labour. The reduction will be used to discuss particular types of switches of techniques which arise only in the context of fixed capital systems.

摘要:
AbstractFour types of relationships constituting an economic model of production are specified in order to deduce the mathematical form of the production function. A technical equation restricts the production function to be a member of the homogeneous class. A behavioral equation describes the profit‐maximizing character of the producer. An empirical equation attempts to explain the average productivity of labor. Finally a demand function reflects the structure of the output market. The derived production function is seen to fall into the widely discussed CES‐VES family. The economic model thus in a sense provides a theoretical basis for the CES‐VES production functions. The economic properties of the derived production function are also studied in detail and alternative estimation procedures are reviewed criti

摘要:
AbstractLet Σ represent the covariance matrix of the structural disturbances. Following Theil the standard consistent estimator of the elements of Σ is given as the mean 2 SLS residual sum of squares. This paper shows the fact that there is a class of consistent estimators of Σ and that the standard estimator is not a minimum distance estimator. It derives the minimum distance consistent 2 SLS estimator of Σ. Then the paper suggests that the derived estimator be applied in the second stage as well as in the third stage of 3 SLS estimation. Other possible applications are indicated. This paper contains an improvement and reformulation of the results previously derived by the author on a related subject that appeared inMetroeconomica[9]. This paper contains an improvement over the previous result in that the derived estimator in this paper possesses not only consistency but also the minimum distance prope
