摘要:
A review is given of the current state of the art in Japanese domestic activities in amorphous silicon solar-cell R and D. The historical background and the present status of amorphous silicon solar-cell research in Japan are overviewed. Some new approaches and key technologies to improve solar-cell performance with new amorphous materials such as a-SiC:H, µc-Si:H, a-SiGe:H and heterojunction solar cells constructed of these materials are introduced. Progress of the conversion efficiency in various types of amorphous-silicon solar-cells is surveyed and discussed. Recent features of the industrialization of a-Si photovoltaic cells in Japan are also reviewed, and future prospects are indicated.

摘要:
In this paper we propose a configuration of a solar, e.g., photovoltaic, power plant, which allows for additional agricultural use of the land involved, although the collectors are optimized for solar-energy conversion. If the collectors are not installed directly on the ground, but are elevated by about 2m above the ground with the periodic distance between collector rows of about three times the height of the collectors, one achieves nearly uniform radiation, (integrated over the day), on the ground of a value of about two-thirds of the global radiation without solar collectors. The mathematical relations allowing calculation of the fraction of light reaching the ground under the collector field are derived. Numerical calculations for both the direct and diffuse part of solar radiation are carried out yielding the seasonal and local dependence of this fraction. In addition, we give an outline of the various advantages offered by this configuration.

摘要:
The proposed method for an approximate estimation of daily sums of irradiations of total solar radiation (direct, diffuse and reflected) on any oriented and inclined surface takes into consideration, as basic values, the corresponding irradiations calculated for clear sky conditions, together with the correlation relations between the global radiation measured on an horizontal surface and the same global radiation by clear sky and the ratio of duration of sunshine.
