摘要:
Antibodies to dermatophytes (M. audouinii, T. mentagrophytes var. granulosum and var. interdigitale, T. rubrum, and T. tonsurans) were detected in sera of patients with tinea capitis and tinea corporis by charcoal agglutination tests, immunodiffusion analysis, and complement fixation tests. In tinea capitis, these antibodies were not confined to patients with deep-seated, inflammatory infections. The zoophilic variety of T. mentagrophytes induced antibody formation more frequently than the anthropophilic variety in patients with tinea corporis. Precipitating and complement-fixing antibodies were often found in sera of patients with chronic T. rubrum infections. The agglutinating, precipitating, and complement-fixing antibodies persist for a limited period of time only; therefore, the time in the course of the infection at which blood is taken is of utmost importance for the study of circulating antibodies.

摘要:
The case of a patient with the rare combination of psoriasiform erythroderma, pustular psoriasis and arthritis is presented. The patient, now a 10½ -year-old boy, has had his skin disease since birth and a progressing arthritissince the age of five. Several skin biopsies have confirmed thediagnosis of pustular psoriasis. Methotrexate has had a beneficial effect on the skin; whether methotrexate also will influence his arthritis remains to be seen

摘要:
Delayed reaction to DNP conjugate prepared in vitro from the extract of homologous epidermis could be clearly detected on intradermal injection in guinea pigs sensitized by epicutaneous application of DNCB and intradermal injection of Freund’s complete adjuvant to the previously applied area, but not to DNP guinea pig serum. The animals developed the most intense delayed reaction to DNP conjugate prepared from the subcellular small granule fraction of homologous epidermis. There was significant difference in the reactivity of this conjugate and DNP-soluble fraction of the epidermis. The animals also showed positive reactions to DNP conjugates prepared from the extracts of homologous heart, liver, kidney and heterologous (human) epidermis. This finding is explainable by cross-reactivity which exists between these conjugates and DNCB conjugated in vivo to autologous epidermi

摘要:
Three cases of the dystrophic type of epidermolysis bullosa in three generations comprising 18 individuals are described. Two of the three cases were females and the other male. The index case was of the vegetans type, while the other two cases were the usual dystrophic type. The unusual clinical and histological features in the latter cases are highlighted. The autosomal recessive transmission of the disease is brought out. The therapeutic role of vitamin E in dosage of 300 mg per day in the management of these cases is emphasized.

摘要:
An electron micrograph of half-desmosomes fixed in glutaraldehyde alone and stained on the section with uranyl acetate is presented. The ultrastructure indicates that Rupec’s [3] M- and H’-layers of half-desmosome correspond respectively to the outer leaflet of cell membrane and the intercellular contact layer of desmosome. Also, glutaraldehyde fixation clearly reveals that fine filamentous structures between the basement membrane and half-desmosomes terminate in the H’-layer of half-desm

摘要:
Different skin tumors were analyzed for their triglycerid/cholesterol content. A simple thin-layer chromatography technique was chosen for these investigations. The cholesterol content of the mentioned skin tumors was much higher than in normal skin. There was, however, no correlation between the cholesterol content and the malignancy of the tumors.

摘要:
An indirect immunofluorescent antibody technique is described which can be used to identify rapidly, specifically and accurately herpesvirus hominis infections affecting the skin. The possible applications of this technique as a diagnostic aid of suspected herpetic infections in dermatology are illustrated and discussed. It is suggested that the method should prove useful in the investigation of all vesicular skin lesions in which infection with herpesvirus hominis is suspected. With the advent of anti-viral agents these techniques are likely to become increasingly important.

摘要:
An 8-year-old girl presented with a two-year history of a progressive ‘wrinkling’ of her cheeks. Examination revealed the skin of both cheeks appeared irregularly furrowed with a linear pattern radiating outward from the nose and mouth. A biopsy showed changes consistent with a connective tissue nevus. The patient is being reported because of the unusual clinical appeara
