AbstractThis bibliography evolved as a network using the papers in the volumeVisualization of Scientific Computingedited by Gregory M. Nielson and Bruce Shriver and published by IEEE Computer Society Press, 1990 as the root nodes. From there, the supplied reference lists were recursively traversed until a closure resulted either from the common links or from the effective grounding by the highly technical literature of application specializations.As usual, the standard disclaimers apply; so, for example, this collection is hopefully complete (in the sense that subsets of papers form research vectors that span the space of scientific visualization), but obviously not exhaustively comprehensive. Some of the entries are of a general survey nature, whereas others are quite specific and technical. Pivotal and often quoted works comprise the bulk of the material, but works of historical and developmental significance are also included especially where they point to researchers, research centres and journals where important work has been, and is being, performed and recorded. The annotations accompanying the references tend to be impressionistic and apologies to the authors are hereby noted for those instances where omissions, misunderstandings and whimsy have resulted in misinterpretations. 摘要:
AbstractAn experimental solid modelling system has been adapted to generate animation directly from CSG descriptions. Motion is specified by computer programs, and images are rendered by ray tracing. The system has proved as cost effective as more conventional polygon modellers while producing a very high standard of imagery.

AbstractThe concept of the display processor unit (DPU; see Reference 1, p. 94) is extended to arrive at a generalized display processor (GDP) which is able not only to produce a static screen image given the descriptions of a list of graphics elements but which allows for these graphics elements to show an autonomous kinematic (motion‐)behaviour. AbstractThe software animation system PASTIS (Program Animation System with Interactive Solutions) for program animation with emphasis on the visualization of the dynamic behaviour of algorithms and data structures is presented. Its main properties are unmodified source code of the visualized program, concurrent multiple views on algorithms and data structures, and interactive alterations of views during run time. PASTIS is distinguished by high modularity and strict separation of its components. This makes it particularly suitable for distributed computing environments. The interface between program and animation is a relational data model. Animations are directed by a single tuple, or sets of tuples, called relations, or sets of relations, called networks. 摘要:
AbstractIn order to observe the physical values (magnetic flux density and eddy current) in 3D magnetic field analysis, an interactive and highly manipulative visualization system depicting stereo images is intalled in a graphics workstation with high functional graphic processors. The system has the following characteristics:1An interactive and highly manipulative menu window with many functions: it enables visualization of complex phenomena in a 3D field through observation of various combinations of physical values from various viewpoints.2Simultaneous display of both magnetic flux density and eddy current by using the appropriate use of two colour display methods for stream lines and distribution maps of density: this function facilitates observation of the mutual relations between two physical values in a 3D field.3Animations and stereo displays: since they give extremely distinct images, observers can easily understand even highly complex 3D phenomena.In this paper, the calculation method of density vectors, their display methods, and interactive functions are described. Some examples are also illustrated.
