摘要:
A low-cost battery-powered amperometric detector for Flow Injection Analysis and High Performance Liquid Chromatography has been developed. The potentiostat is controlled by a personal computer through an 8 bit Analog-to-Digital, Digital-to-Analog card. The electronic design of the potentiostat is based on high-gain low-power operational amplifiers. This configuration allowed us to use batteries as the power source, minimizing power source noise.

摘要:
A novel gas chromatography-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) method was developed to confirm and identify metoprolol and its metabolites by double derivatization with S-(-)menthyl chloroformate [(-)-MCF] and N-methyl-(trimethylsilyl)-trifluoroacetamide (MSTFA). This is the first report, which describes the simultaneous identification of metoprolol, its one major acidic and other basic metabolites in human urine based on solid-phase extraction with C18reversed-phase cartridges.

摘要:
Optimisation of the design parameters for a reflectron geometry time-of-flight mass spectrometer (RTOFMS) has been done by a simplex optimisation method based on a Nelder-Mead Algorithm. The space and energy resolutions obtained are 6100 and 7400, respectively, for mass 200 amu. The resolution is quite adequate for all the applications of RIMS. A high resolution reflectron geometry time-of-flight mass spectrometer (RTOFMS) for resonance ionisation mass spectrometer (RIMS) is being fabricated, based on these optimised design parameters.

摘要:
A combination sample holder/heater that can be used for variable temperature infrared spectroscopic studies of solids is described. The ceramic sample holder/heater is durable and can be used to heat samples to temperatures as high as 1000 C under vacuum or in inert, reductive, or oxidative atmospheres. The design and properties of the ceramic heater are described and compared to those for a stainless steel sample holder containing a cartridge heater. Results from variable temperature infrared analysis of a sulfated zirconia solid acid catalyst obtained by using the ceramic heater are presented to illustrate the advantages of this sample holder/heater design.

摘要:
The combination of UV and diode-laser polarimetric detection of chiral molecules offers significant advantages in high performance liquid chromatography. The method described here circumvents the derivatization step and the use of chiral stationary or mobile phases for the resolution of enantiomers. Data acquisition of the polarimeter was performed with AC/DC interface and software Pico ADC-100 coupled to the polarimeter detector. Quantitative methods in the range 1-150 μg and 1-600 μg of (+)-cinchonine and (-)-cinchonidine, respectively, were established. Enantiomeric ratio determined by using UV and diode-laser polarimetric data without chiral separation is discussed.

摘要:
A fully automated method for the determination of organochlorine pesticides in vegetables is proposed. The overall system acts as an “analytical black box” because a robotic station performs the preliminary operations, from weighing to capping the leached analytes and location in an autosampler of an automated gas chromatograph with electron capture detection. The method has been applied to the determination of lindane, heptachlor, captan, chlordane and metoxychlor in tea, marjoram, cinnamon, pennyroyal, and mint with good results in most cases.
