摘要:
Thirty nine species of bats were captured in the study, of which 27 are phyllostomids, 5 vespertilionids, 4 emballonurids, 2 molossids, and 1 noctilionid. 66% of the species were encountered at altitudes below 500 metres, only 23% were captured above 2000 metres. Two species,Artibeus lituratusandA. cinereus, were captured in habitats up to 3000 metres elevation. Of the bats captured, 19 were frugivorous species, 12 were insectivores, 4 nectarivorous‐polinivorous, 2 polinivores and one each fish eating and blood sucking. Time of stay and movement of congeners are noted for each of the altitudinal belts studied.

摘要:
The leptodactylid frog genusEdalorhinacontains two species ‐E. nasuta, known from two localities in centra! Peru, andE. perezithat is widespread in the upper Amazon Basin. The latter species varies geographically in dorsal skin texture and ventral color pattern. The most distinctive ventral pattern occurs in specimens from the southeastern part of the range in the drainages of the Rio Punís and Río Madre de Dios. Limited data on advertisement calls suggests that the calls are essentially the same in different parts of the range.Edalorhina pereziis diurnal and inhabits leaf litter on the forest floor in lowland tropical rainforest. Eggs are deposited in a foam nest at the edge of shallow, temporary pools, and the aquatic tadpoles are generalized. The life history data support the placement of the genus in the subfamily Leptodactylinae

摘要:
Four new species of the Ephemeroptera family Caenidae from South America are described. Three of them belong to the genusCaenis (C. pflugfelderi, C. pseudamica, C. burmeisteri)and one to the genusBrasilocaenis (Br. septentrionalis). C. pflugfelderiwith apically rounded forceps seems to be closely related to the species of theC. reissigroup. The other twoCaenisspecies have got long forceps with sclerotized pointed tips. They are probably related to North American species(C. pseudamica)and to theC. fittkauigroup as well as to theBrasilocaenis species (C. burmeisteri).

摘要:
The ecological characteristics of the typical locality ofAcanthogonatus tacuariensisare given. The species inhabit two types of ecological subformations (= micro‐habitats): spaces between the inferior branches of the shrubs and the soil surface and interface soil surface underside free stones. Therefore, it is a component of the criptozoic fauna of Uruguay that sometimes lives in sites of difficult access to man. It has a characteristic behavioural ecology: the females and the juveniles make waterproof tunnel‐webs within which they stay during the scotophase.

摘要:
Observations on the reproductive biology of the leptodactylid frogEdalorhina pereziin Amazonian Perú and in laboratory show that the species constructs aquatic foam nests and that the reproductive behavior is similar to that of several species ofPhysalaemus. Tadpoles and calls are described.
