摘要:
The equation of radiative transfer is generalized to include a description of the state of polarization of the radiation and a description of the induced (stimulated) events simulaneously. It is found that the number of induced events can be simply expressed in terms of the Stokes parameters of the corresponding spontaneous radiation source and those of the radiation field. The Stokes parameters of the induced radiation source, however, involve time averages of the spontaneous source amplitudes and phases other than those involved in defining the spontaneous source Stokes parameters.

摘要:
The reduced three-dimensional transport equation for neutron wave propagation is solved in the velocity-dependent case with a separable scattering kernel by the eigenfunction-expansion method. The full-and half-range orthogonalities for the eigenfunctions are derived. The former is applied to solve the transport equation in an infinite system.

摘要:
In the realm of one-speed, time-independent neutron transport with constant cross sections, a simple connection is established between the solutions of two problems that differ only by the presence of a δ-distribution (in the forward or backward direction) in the scattering kernel.

摘要:
The time behavior of a neutron pulse in a fast subcritical assembly is modeled by approximating the spatial dependence by a single diffusion mode and using a simple model of inelastic scattering. This model allows an explicit calculation of the time response of a detector in such a system. Of particular interest is a study of the detector response in those situations in which the flux does not decay in an exponential fashion.
