SYNOPSISThe types of neurosecretory cell occurring in the adult brain of 23 species of Lepidoptera are described, and their numbers and distribution recorded. A system of classification based on existing descriptions of neurosecretory cells from Lepidoptera and insects from other orders is proposed.

SYNOPSISSimulium afronuri and S.lumbwanumare recorded living in association with nymphs ofAfronurusin the forest zone of West Cameroon. Observations on infestation rates, attachment sites, larval size distribution and dispersion are recorded. Evidence of niche separation between the two simuliid species is discussed.
