摘要:
AbstractA 22.5‐GHz microstrip bandpass filter is analyzed using three different circuit analysis techniques. Circuit theory modeling fails to provide an accurate prediction when compared to measured data. But a hybrid analysis, which uses electromagnetic field solver computations and circuit theory models, provides good agreement with measured data. A more complete field solver analysis of the filter also shows good agreement when compared to measurements. In the later two cases, the electromagnetic analysis captures the actual current distribution on the filter that circuit theory fails to predict. © 1995 John Wiley&Sons, I

摘要:
AbstractResonant frequencies of shielded rectangular and circular microstrip patches have been determined using the modified Wolff model (MWM). The model determines effect of top‐shield, side‐walls, and end‐walls on the resonant frequency. Results of the MWM have been compared to those of SDA and FEM. The MWM has an accuracy of 0.2% compared with experimental results. Numerically, the MWM is fast even on a desktop computer. The model is suitable for CAD applications. © 1995 John Wiley&Son

摘要:
AbstractA nonlinear design procedure for microwave power amplifiers is presented. The methodology makes use of a complete nonlinear model for the active device and an exact nonlinear analysis method. Suitable harmonic loading conditions for efficient power performance are imposed simultaneously and consistently with the analysis. The procedure is much faster than conventional repeated nonlinear analyses. © 1995 John Wiley&Sons, Inc

摘要:
AbstractA method for solving cylindrical electromagnetic boundary‐value problems is presented. The method is semidiscrete. The wave equation is written in cylindrical coordinates and a differential‐discretizing process is used in angular direction, and in the radial direction the analytic solutions are used. The new method is called the method of angular lines (MAL). To confirm the validity of MAL Dirichlet‐ and Neumann‐type boundary‐value problems of a two‐dimensional scalar wave equation are investigated. The results show good agreement with previously published results. Advantages and disadvantages of the method are discussed. © 1995 John Wil

摘要:
AbstractA new, very simple curve‐fitted expression is presented for the radiation resistance of resonant rectangular microstrip antennas. It is derived from numerical results available in the literature, and is useful for the computer‐aided design (CAD) of microstrip antennas. This expression can be used for a wide range of substrate thicknesses and permittivities. The results obtained by using this expression are in conformity with those reported elsewhere. © 1995 John Wiley&Sons,
