摘要:
AbstractA stable Al65Cu20Fe15quasicrystal with an icosahedral structure is studied in solid and liquid state. It is found that the icosahedral phase in Al65Cu20Fe15alloy does not grow directly from the pure liquid state, but rather forms between monoclinic Al13Fe4and residual liquid state at 865 °C. The melting point of the Al65Cu20Fe15icosahedral quasicrystal occurs at 865 °C and that of the Al65Cu20Fe15alloy occurs at 1008 °C. Moreover, the monoclinic Al13Fe4is transformed into the icosahedral phase easily at the temperature of 845 °C. The icosahedral quasicrystal in Al65Cu20Fe15alloy has a high thermal stability even at 950 °C. Above 950 °C, the icosahedral structure tends to an amorphous stru

摘要:
AbstractThe Gibbs‐Bogoliubov inequality is used to compute the thermodynamics and structural properties of alkali metals and Mg, Cd, Al, In, Tl, Pb using the soft sphere (SS) reference fluid. The results are compared with earlier calculations using the charged hard sphere (CHS) as a reference fluid. It is concluded that the SS reference fluid gives better results than the CHS for the quantities investigated and yields, in all cases, lower values for the free energy, thus indicating that the SS is a preferred system. From the structural point of view, the SS predicts better agreement with experiments for the position of maxima and minima of the structure factor, although it tends to overemphasize the peaks in all cases when compared with the CHS. It is suggested on the basis of the calculations that the SS could be used for more calculations involving fluid variational perturbation approach because of its relative simplicity and ability to produce remarkably good results for structure and thermodynamics of liquid metals when computed values are compared with experiment

AbstractA model of high‐energy ion implantation is formulated with allowance for fluctuations of the charge state of ions and the corresponding backward transport equation for post‐implantation spatial distributions of an impurity. Simulation results of experiments concerned with boron ion implantation into silicon by numerical solving the backward transport equation are reported. It is shown that the account of ion charge fluctuations in the high‐energy range leads to an increase of the range straggling of the implanted impurity and provides a better agreement with the experiment than the traditional methods of modelling based on the use of the Monte‐Carlo method or the backward transport eq
