摘要:
ABSTRACTThis is the report of a case of chromomycosis developing on the skin, left lung, brain, lymph nodes, liver, ileocecal region and kidney of a 15‐year‐old Japanese boy. Phialophora gougerotii from the skin lesions on the back and left upper arm and Phialophora dermatitidis from the left lung, brain, lymph nodes, kidney, as well as the skin lesions on the face, neck and chest were isola

摘要:
ABSTRACTThe action of topically applied γ‐Oryzanol (triterpineol ester with ferulic acid) on the sebaceous glands was investigated using the double blind method. 1% γ‐Oryzanol ointment, and the ointment base as control, were applied symmetrically to the backs of rats in the same hair cycle stage. The turnover time of sebaceous gland cells was examined by quantitating8H‐thymidine incorporation and colchicine‐arrested mitosis. The labeling index and arrested mitosis values were significantly elevated by the topical application of γ‐Oryzanol. Elevation of these values was paralleled by an increase in sebum production (reported in a previous paper) (4), showing that sebaceous gland cells are stimulated by γ‐Oryzanol.Other than sex hormones, γ‐Oryzanol is the only substance known to stimulate sebaceous glands by t

摘要:
ABSTRACTA biologically active peptido‐rhamnogalactan was isolated from disruptedSporothrix schenckiiyeast cells by sodium deoxycholate extraction and was further purified by DEAE‐Sephadex A‐50 chromatography. This fraction, 60.6% sugar and 3.0% nitrogen, was active in delayed hypersensitivity skin tests in sporotrichosis patients and also cross‐reacted serologically with a peptido‐rhamnomannan isolated fromSporothrix schenckiiculture filtrates. These results suggest strong that L‐rhamnose, α‐1, 2 linked, is more important in determining the serological specificity ofSporothrix schenckiithan the α‐1, 3 linked L‐rhamnose or the mannan backbone of the peptido‐rhamnomannans so

摘要:
ABSTRACTThe distribution of immune deposits in the skin of reversed passive Arthus reaction was investigated using horseradish peroxidase (HRP) as antigen. Free and non‐reacted HRP, after leaking from small vessels, spreads widely in connective tissue, in epidermis, and in hair follicles in a diffuse and homogeneous pattern. When a specific antibody is administered, HRP appears as granular deposits, which can be considered to be immune deposits, and they adhere to the tissues. When sufficient amounts of antibody is intracutaneously administered, these granular deposits are seen at the wall of venules or in the vicinity of the venules, but when a small amount of antibody is injected, the deposits are seen widely in the connective tissue and are apt to be accumulated at the basement membrane of the dermo‐epidermal junction and of hair follicles. Free HRP passes the basement membrane easily, but the immune complexes are considered unable to pass it and are deposited under
