摘要:
A student on a production engineering course can learn to operate the Hero 1 training robot from Zenith Data Systems in half an hour, according to a lecturer in robotics at Middlesex Polytechnic. Selling for around 10% of the price of large, industrial robots, the Hero 1 is thought to be an ideal way of breaking down psychological barriers between student and robot.

摘要:
Following a grant of £75 000 from the EEC, the Open University is looking into the potential application of information technology (IT) in education. Also the Business and Technician Education Council is looking into ways of teaching technicians and supervisors about using new technology in business. We report on both projects and on some courses the OU is running for engineers and managers.
