摘要:
In this paper, we investigate the dynamic stresses of an elastic liner around a cylindrical tunnel subjected to an incident plane SH‐wave in an infinitely extended elastic medium. The investigation is based on the anti‐plane strain approximation of the dynamic theory of elasticity. The solutions are obtained by applying the method of wave functions expansion. Numerical results of dynamic stress concentrations at the outer and inner boundaries of the liner for various parameters are discussed in detail.

摘要:
A mathematical model for describing the growth of a cylindrical particle caused by the effects of diffusion, interface kinetics and surface energy is employed to study the geometrical stability of the moving solid‐liquid interface. The results are obtained by using the sinusoidal perturbation technique to analyze the time dependent diffusion equation. The effect of perturbations in θ and z‐directions on radial growth are both considered. The results are consistent with those of previous work on the stability of a cylindrical particle due to diffusion control. The interface kinetics effects enhance the geometrical stability.

摘要:
A successfully developed design system which provides an on‐line interactive facility for the application of engineering drawings is described. A set of processing questions as well as a set of control functions are supplied to support man‐machine interactive construction and maintainence of picture data. A vector‐valued parametric form together with the basic operations of translation, rotation, and scaling are integrated into a standard form for generating picture primitives. Also, a B‐tree structure is used to minimize disk access times so that data base file organization of the design system can handle huge amount of picture records.

摘要:
A review of the solution techniques most widely used in nonlinear structural dynamics is presented. For nonlinear transient responses several explicit and implicit direct integration methods are compared with respect to accuracy, stability and computational efficiency. It is concluded that the choice of a suitable method depends upon the nature of the method, the formulation of finite element models, and the problem itself. In general, the Park method seems to be superior to the others in nonlinear dynamic analysis. If equilibrium iterations are performed at each time step, the Newmark— ß=1/4 method should be preferred.

摘要:
The dynamic characteristics of taper seal has been investigated. The approach is similar to Black's analysis; the stiffness and damping coefficients are derived. The results showed that the taper seals presented more stable characteristics comparing with plain seals. The practical application of this theory is increasingly used in industry.

摘要:
Local similarity solutions are obtained for the laminar boundary layer heat transfer along static and moving cylinders with prescribed surface temperature or wall heat flux. The effects of normalized streamwise distance and Prandtl number on the temperature distribution and heat transfer rate are studied in detail. The comparison with perturbation solutions is given. It is shown that the local similarity solutions are more useful for large normalized streamwise distance where the perturbation solutions are not valid.

A method of recursive parameter estimation of multivariable deterministic systems via block pulse functions is presented. Based on this recursive algorithm, the computation is simple and straightforward. It is suitable for computer programming. An illustrative example is given.
