摘要:
AbstractAvailable data on the tetramoriine ant genusRhoptromyrmexMayr are reviewed. The genus is redefined for all castes and the monotypic genusHagioxenusForel, formerly placed in theMonomorium‐group, is synonymized withRhoptromyrmex. Anew species(caritus)is described from Uganda and keys to known workers, females and males are presented. Nest founding by the females, two of which appear autoparasitic and two of which are inquilines, is discussed and the evolutionary pathway of inquilines reviewed. Current taxonomic data on all species are summarize

摘要:
AbstractAceratoneuromyiahas been considered a close relative ofMelittobiaand allies by several authors. Evidence from courtship behaviour suggests that such a relationship is very unlikely. Furthermore, the courtship ofAceratoneuromyia granulansis interesting from a comparative point of view in that it is rigidly organized, with an alternation of so‐called low‐ and high‐phases. It has been hypothesized earlier that these phase shifts coincide with motivational changes underlying courtship behaviour. The low‐phase was supposed to be an expression of a relative predominance of the tendency to copulate. Low‐phase behaviour ofA.granulansseems to be straightforward copulatory behaviour, though not oriented towards the female's genita

摘要:
AbstractThe first instar larva ofPromecognathus laevissimus(Dejean) is described, representing the first species of Promecognathus known in the larval stage. The larva is autapomorphic in having: (1) additional setae, often in great number, on many sclerites of the body, (2) a transverse, not bulbous, sensory area located ventrally and laterally at the apex of antennomere III, and (3) the marginal area of the mesonotum, metanotum and abdominal tergites I‐VI more expanded than usual in carabid larvae. No evidence was found from the larval morphology ofP.laevissimusto indicate the sister group of the Promecognathin

摘要:
AbstractTuthilliagen.n. (Homoptera: Psylloidea) is erected for four Neotropical species:canabinasp.n. (the type‐species from Belize and Panama),cognatasp.n. (Brazil),latipennissp.n. (Panama) andiunctasp.n. (Brazil). It is suggested thatTuthilliaforms a monophyletic group with the ciriacremine generaCiriacremum, KleiniellaandPal‐mapenna. However, onlyiunctapossesses an R‐M cross vein in the forewing, a character which has been used to define the ciriacremines in the past. It seems, therefore, that this character is unstable and alternative synapomorphies are discussed. The genital morphology ofTuthilliais similar to that found in both Ciriacreminae and Diaphorininae (Aphalaridae). It is speculated that these subfamilies represent previously unrecognized sister groups defined using the genital characters as synapomor

摘要:
AbstractThe leptocerid trichopteran genusNotalinais recorded from the South American continent for the first time. Seven new species are described in it and placed in a new subgenus,Neonotalina: N.brasiliana, N.morsei, N.cipoandN.hamiltonifrom southeastern Brazil, comprise thebrasilianaspecies‐group, andN.roraimafrom Venezuela,N.nanayfrom Peru andN.matthiasifrom Colombia form theroraimaspecies‐group.Notalina (Neonotalina)is identifiable by the presence of a long, slender baso‐mesal process on the male inferior appendage. The two species‐groups may be distinguished by the morphology of the male phallus. The historical biogeography of the genus in South America is di
