AbstractOn two previous occasions an account has been given of the surface arteries of the brain and of the circulation of the cerebral cortex.In this communication it is our intention to describe the internal circulation of the cerebral hemispheres and the anatomy of the surface veins and venous sinuses. Also, we hope to link up our previous papers with this one and to discuss and illustrate the phenomena that we believe are of special surgical importance and particularly those that influence surgical techniques.

摘要:
AbstractIn this communication it is our intention to describe in detail the vascular anatomy of the dura mater, and particularly as its peculiarities throw light on the actiology and vascularization of the meningiomata, a class of tumours that has played a large part in the moulding of the techniques of neurosurgery. We believe that our work also helps in the elucidation of the puzzling phenomena of the circulation and chemistry of the cerebrospinal fluid. The relevant pathological activities of the subdural space and the mechanisms of migraine will also be discussed.

摘要:
AbstractIn 1927 Wangensteen wrote, ‘No greater diversity of opinion probably exists concerning anything in medicine than the question of malignancy in the undescended testicle.’ Since this was written a great number of papers has been published on this subject, and now it is generally accepted that the maldescended testis is more liable to undergo malignant change than the normally descended organ. The main factors which swayed opinion to this view were Campbell's analytical papers of 1942 and 1959. His conclusions were that malignancy was eleven times more frequent in the inguinal testis and sixty times more frequent in the intra‐abdominal testis. The maldescended testis is also known to be more liable to torsion and trauma than is the normal organ.The following case illustrates two of the dangers to which an intra‐abdominal testis is
