摘要:
The structure of the nursing service organization is basic to its effectiveness. Patient care, employee morale, and achievement of objectives are enhanced in a goal-oriented organizational setting. There is no one best way for every nursing service to organize and operate; each one in its own environment has to develop its own plan. This article, adapted from a forthcoming book on nursing administration by the authors, presents one each plan and focuses on the importance of committee relationships to the formal organization. Too often committee activity is an exercise in futillty, an excuse for supervisory personnel to avoid some of their key responsibilities, and a contributing cause to organizational conflict.

摘要:
Implementation of the role of the clinical specialist in nursing should include introduction into the community hospital, Educational preparation, experience as a practitioner, personality of the individual, and climate of the employing agency determine the actual role assumed. Three years of experimentation in a 400-bed community teaching hospital substantiates the vital part the clinical specialist can play in improving quality of care, Staff relationship allows the specialist freedom to explore and develop the role, Questions regording the role of the clinical specialists move us toward better understanding and acceptance of the nurse as a professional. Clinical specialists help to create a challenging climate for nursing.
