摘要:
Physicochemical fundamentals of two new chromatographic methods-the liquid-gas (LGC) and the liquid-gas-solid chromatography (LGSC) are stated. The mechanism of the stationary gas phase retention in the pores of hydrophobic supports is explained and practical results of the effect obtained are considered. Examples of the LGC and LGSC application for preconcentration of gases and volatile organic compounds dissolved in water are discussed. These methods have substantial advantages in comparison with the common head-space analysis.

摘要:
This review deals with the most recent investigations on the preparation, characterization, and metal sorption properties of ligand-loaded resins obtained by modification of conventional anion-exchange resins and nonionic sorbents with complexing organic reagents. These resins display a selectivity for metal ions that can be applied for the separation and/or preconcentration of metal ions off-line as well as in on-line techniques. In addition, the increasing application in recent years of new functional-modified resins in certain growing scientific areas, namely, electrochemistry, optical-fiber sensors, pharmaceuticals, biochemistry, etc., is discussed. Finally, the immobilization of chelating reagents in types of supports other than conventional resins is also considered.

摘要:
A survey is presented of the rationale of and the operative procedures for the assessment of reference values of minor and trace elements in human blood (whether entire, plasma, or serum), urine, milk, hair, kidneys, liver, and lungs. Literature sources available on this subject matter have been scanned over the past 30 years and reference values have been critically and selectively reported. The need for further harmonization of strategies and better comparability of experimental data is emphasized.
