AbstractA method for analysis of separate sigma and pi overlap populations in a system of very low symmetry has been proposed. The calculations are performed in Ti3O3, rutile, anatase, brookite and tetragonal barium titanate. The examination of the various bond overlap populations has led to reasonable explanation on the infrared absorption spectra of CO and CO3chemisorption on rutile and anatase and the relative heats of formation of anatase, rutile and brookite.

AbstractIn the photolysis of ketene with benzene in the gas phase, Cycloheptatriene (CHT) and totuene (Tol) have been observed as the products. The ratio, (CHT)/(CHT)+(Tol) are studied at various conditions. The difference of activation energy of formation between toluene and cycloheptariene is evaluated to be 4.76kcal/mole.

AbstractHepatic cystathionase activity, but not methionine adenosyl‐transterase and cystathionine synthetase, was markedly decreased in weanling female rats fed a vitamin B6‐deficient diet, compared to that of the control animals fedad libitumor pair‐fed. The depressed enzyme activity was restored rapidly to normal by administering pyridoxine to the deficient rats. Excess pyridoxal phosphate added to enzyme reaction mixtures stimulated cystathionase in liver extracts from both control and deficient animals, but it did not raise activity of deficients to normal level.
