AbstractA new method of correlating experimental reactivities with parameters calculated by molecular orbital theory, is proposed. In the case of electrophilic aromatic substitutions, this new approach shows significant improvement over the previous attempts.

AbstractInteractions between trans‐1,2‐diaminocyclohexane‐N, N, N′, N′‐tetraacetic acid (H4DCTA or H4Z) and Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) ions has been investigated. The formation constants of the hydrogen chelates (MHZ−), and of the normal chelates (MZ2–), have been evaluated at 10°, 20°, 30° and 40°C, and an ionic strength of 0.10(KNO3). AbstractThe extraction characteristics of vanadium (V), with α‐benzoin oxime dissolved in chloroform have been investigated. The most favorable condition for the extraction has been found in thepH range of 1.8 to 2.4 and 2.6 to 3.0, corresponding to sulfate and HCI‐KCI used as a buffer, respectively, but the extracting power was found rather good when sulfate buffer was used.A solution of 2×10−2M α‐benzoin oxime in chloroform was used, and 1×10−4to 2×10−2M of vanadium (V) (added ac NaVO3) were used, and about 88% of vandium was extracted favourably by single extraction, and about 97% by double extractions.The effects of shaking time, concentration of α‐benzoin oxime and diverse ions have also been investigated. AbstractSeveral kinds of alcohol have been chosen to react with succinic acid, and several organic acids have been chosen to esterify withn‐butyl alcohol using either Dowex 50 W or sulfuric acid as catalyst. The rate constants are influenced by the temperature, the structure of reactants, and kinds of catalyst; the activation energies are also varied with different reactants and catalysts. The catalytic effect of hydrogen ion is not a simple form, and the possibility of exciting either the acid or the alcohol to its activated state was assured to be affected by their molecular structures. 摘要:

AbstractThe principle product of acrylonitrile compounds could be analyzed by gas chromatography with fast, accurate and good results. The compounds which were made by liquefied petroleum gases (L.P.G.), ammonia and air with catalyst of Pt gauze at high temperature in the reactor, were identified and calculated according to their peak areas as following: hydrogen cyanide was 4.1% by volume, acrylonitrile was 75.7%, acetonitrile was 9.1% and ethylcyanide was 11.1%.
