摘要:
Population, resources and environment constitute the basis for economic and social advances. Their coordinative development is the key factor for the continuous, stable and harmonious development of economy and society. China is a developing country which needs to mobilize the whole society to coordinate among population, resources and environment and to keep publicity and research in pace so as to deepen people's understanding and improve the methods of achieving this coordination.

摘要:
Based on the formation process of the Loess Plateau, the characteristics comparison between loess and ancient soil and the located materials of spore- pollen, ancient stone artifact, history, geography and soil erosion, the analysis reveals that the present state serious soil erosion in Loess Plateau, instead of being a natural geologic course, is a consequence of destruction of vegetation, irrational land utilization and the direct destruction of soil permeability and anti-erosion ability, esp. anti-scourability. The water and soil conservation measures, with the twenty-eight-word amelioration principle as the core, are the basis for exploiting and improving water and soil resources of the Loess Plateau so as to harness the Huanghe (the Yellow River).

摘要:
This paper analyses the historical reasons that have resulted in the assumption that natural resources have no valuve. As opposed to this assumption, a conception of resource industry is proposed. The paper expounds the basis of the value of resources and explains the significance of the research of resource value theory. It also attempts to determine the relevant factors, methods and formal expressions of pricing resources.

摘要:
On the basis of a theory of marine environmental ecology, this paper discusses ways of coordinating the economic development, environment and ecology in Dayawan Gulf, one of the centers of economic development in China as well as in Guangdong Province. Dayawan is a typical multi-functional gulf in the southern subtropical zone of China. To make a reasonable use of these functions, it is essential to define the functional zones in this region. With the priority given to protecting the precious marine life in Dayawan, two harbor industrial areas, viz. Aotou Area and Zhuanliao Area, are delimited.

摘要:
Environmental carrying capacity is an important topic in the research of the coordinated development of population, resources and environment. It must be carefully considered when efforts are given to coordinating the economic development and environmental protection. This paper attempts to give a definition of the environmental carrying capacity and discusses its descriptive methods. By describing the relationship between the development variable and the constraint variable, a case study is made on Meizhouwan of Fujian province, an emerging economic development region. On the basis of analysis of its carrying capacity of environment, some proposals for regional planning are made in an attempt of providing a scientific basis for the coordinated development of population, resources and enviornment in the region.

摘要:
Population, resources, environment and socio-economic development are four major issues of increasing world attention today and are also four major factors constraining China's development tomorrow. Through an analysis of the international situation and an assessment of China's actual conditions, this article proposes a basic framework and conception of promoting the sustainability of China's population, resources, environment and socio-economic development.
