This chapter reviews some elements of the historical roots of student discipline, surveys recent judicial decisions related to disciplinary rules and procedures, and suggests the ways in which different institutions could shape student conduct rules that highlight their distinctive characters.

摘要:
AbstractJudicial codes are often conceived and administered as if a single, common set of values and norms govern students' values and behaviors. This chapter discusses how specific student groups can find themselves at odds with assumptions underlying judicial codes and provides some direction for the administration of judicial codes for judicial affairs officers.
