摘要:
The cavitation in a cylindrical liquid metal shell (liner) imploded to a trapped magnetic field is discussed on the basis of the one-dimensional treatment of compressible fluid dynamics including the effect of the diffusion of magnetic field into the liner. The numerical results reveal not only the liner disruption resulting from the rarefaction wave propagation but also the ablation of the layer near the inner surface due to the tension of diffused magnetic field. The cavitation, however, can be avoided by making use of a rotating double-layer liner when much more compressible material in comparison with the outer layer is selected for the inner layer of the liner.

摘要:
The shield composition of a D-T burning fusion reactor has been optimized to minimize the shutdown dose rate outside the shield. A method of reducing the shutdown dose from a stainless steel structure is devised. First of all the 14 MeV neutron flux must be attenuated to reduce the products of the (n,p) reactions such as58Co and54Mn. Secondly low energy neutrons penetrating through the shield must be decreased to reduce troublesome (n,γr)reaction products such as59Fe and51Cr. As the result the criterion of 2.5 mrem/h one day after shutdown outside the shield is shown to be almost satisfied with 1.3 m thick non breeding blanket/shield, and with 1.5 m thick breeding blanket/shield.

Theory of space-dependent at-power reactor noise is developed in order to evaluate the effect of spatial higher harmonics and feedback on the power spectral density of fluctuations. Their analyses in the framework of two-group diffusion model are important to understand the basic pattern of the power spectral density in normal operating condition.

摘要:
In this paper, the approximation method is given for obtaining the sub-optimal open loop control and the sub-optimal trajectories of a distributed nuclear reactor described by singularly perturbed diffusion equations. Using the Helmholtz modes expansion technique, the condition under which the reduced problem exists and has a unique solution is discussed. Then the boundary layer method developed in lumped parameter systems is applied in order to obtain the asymptotic expansions of the sub-optimal solution with the integral equation expression of the full problem. A numerical example is presented to show the effectiveness of the method.

摘要:
Dynamics of a BWR plant pressure control system were studied using stationary noise data for development of a plant diagnosis technique. A multivariate autoregressive (AR) modeling technique has been widely used for similar purposes. However, this cannot be applied to the pressure control system, since the system contains highly coherent signals and its partial transfer mechanism possesses a fast time constant. The present study solved these difficulties by introducing an associate matrix, which described a priori relationships between objective signals, into the conventional AR model.

摘要:
Strength and Young's modulus of pyrolytic silicon carbide (SiC) were measured. The specimens were the ringed SiC which were taken from TRISO coated fuel particles for High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactors (HTGR). Four kinds of unirradiated specimens and the two of irradiated ones were prepared for the measurement. The SiC coating layer consisting of columnar structure with large crystal grains (about 5 μm) was stronger than the SiC of laminar structure with small grains (less than 1μm). The mean strength of the former SiC was larger than 1,700 MN/m2, while that of the latter SiC, less than 1,600 MN/ms. The SiC with low density (3.14 g/cm3) was the weakest among the present specimens. By irradiation of fission recoil, the mean strength of the SiC of columnar structure with large grains almost unchanged, but that of the SiC of laminar structure with small grains increased about 14%, of which irradiation dose was about 20 times larger than that for the former specimen. As for Young's modulus, the values ranged between 324 and 381 GN/m2and no significant dependence of the modulus on microstructure of the SiC and irradiation was recognized.
