A readily available source of ultrapure water is a basic requirement in most analytical work. The earliest requirement for ultrapure water was in electrochemical research1.In recent years, nuclear reactors, semiconductor and electronic industries require very pure water2,3.Ultrapure water is needed to prepare standards whenever the determination of ultratrace (ppb) concentrations of metals is required.

摘要:
Metal speciation has become one of the most important areas of concern for today's analysts. Metal complexes can be more readily assimilated by living systems than inorganic forms of the same metals. Conventional atomic absorption spectroscopy is the most widely used technique for the determination of trace metals. By using atomic absorption spectroscopy in conjunction with accelerated electroplating it is possible to distinguish between ionic metal and organically bound or complexed metals in solution.

摘要:
A micro liquid chromatograph-interfaced Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer system (LC/FTIR) for on line analysis of liquid chromatography effluents is described. About 2 μg of injected diethylphthalate can be detected using a 0.025 mm pathlength flow cell. Several examples of a micro LC/FTIR are demonstrated.

摘要:
It is demonstrated that the fashions of the concentration-dependences of half-band widths are markedly different between the corresponding bands in i.r. absorption and Raman spectra when the i.r. absorption intensities of the bands are extremely large. On the other hand, when the i.r. intensities are not so great, the similar behaviour is observed for the changes in the half-band widths. In this study, these phenomena have been discussed in terms of the vibrational relaxation of resonance type and the local field effect.

摘要:
A novel method is developed using PMR technique for quantitative determination of stilbestrol and some of its pharmaceutical preparations. The method developed is accurate, rapid, and precise. It involves comparing the integral of the nice triplet system of stilbestrol spectrum (positioned at 0.73 δ) to that of the sharp singlet signal (positioned at 6.25 δ) of maleic acid which is used as internal standard.

Although photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS) has become a valuable analytical and research technique for optical studies of solids,1,2almost all work has been confined to the visible range of the spectrum. The absorptions of solids in that range are mainly broad, structureless and non-specific, so that visible-PAS is of limited utility for chemical analysis; the infrared range is required for that.

摘要:
In connection with the synthesis of thienobenzodiazepines and certain heterocyclic analogues1, a number of anilino heterocycle precursors were prepared. Their proton NMR spectra were generally unexceptional with the exclusion of one of the pyrazole isomers which showed a remarkable deshielding of one proton signal in the aniline ring. Further investigations have inferred that this low field shift can be attributed to through speace deshielding by a proximal pyrazole nitrogen lone pair.
