摘要:
Use of L-F approximation method in the solution of second order secular equation in molecular dynamics has been crtically examined in this report. It has been established that use of too many constraints lead to multiplicity of solutions. The solution of second order secular equation can be easily obtained without solving any quadratic equation giving symmetry force constants identical with those given by Peacock and Mullers method. The solution prescribed by the exponents of L-F approximation method is slightly different due to neglect of F2ijin forming the quadratic equation for the solution of second order secular equation.

摘要:
The photoelectronspectra of three symmetrical single(E)-oxalyl dihalides (X=F,Cl,Br) have been measured. The ionisation potentials between 8–16 eV have been determined and assigned to specific molecular orbitals. The spectra have been interpreted by a simple localized molecular orbital model including spin-orbit coupling. The assignments have been compared with the results of an iterative extended Hückel MO-calculation and the SCF-MO calculations of Frost1.

摘要:
In paper1the chemical shift of carboxylic proton at low temperature of the carboxylic acids dissolved in n-hexane have been found to be equal to the chemical shift of the cyclic dimers. It is quite possible that at low temperature the exchange process cyclic dimer-monomer-complex may cease in the system carboxylic acid-electrondonating solvent. The study of the temperature dependence of chemical shift of the carboxylic proton may partially elucidate this.

摘要:
The aminoacetophenones belong to the class of highly-polar molecules denoted D--A, where D is an electron donor substituent, is a disubstituted benzene ring and A is an electron acceptor substituent. Of the various {o, m, p} isomeric triads of the D--A type which have been investigated (i.e., nitroanilines2, fluorobenzonitriles3, cyanoanisoles4, and cyanoanilines5), the aminoacetophenones are the most polar subset for which all three isomeric members exhibit both fluorescence and phosphorescence. In the most polar subset, the nitroanilines2, theo-andm-isomers fluoresce only whereas thep-isomer phosphoresces only. In the less polar subsets, all isomers exhibit both fluorescence and phosphorescence. Hence, the aminoacetophenones are of interest in determining whether or not the peculiar luminescence characteristics of the nitro-aniline subset are a generic effect of increased molecular dipolarity or are merely the result of a fortuitous arrangement of the excited electronic states introduced by the nitro group.

摘要:
The natural abundance carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum of quinacrine was determined using the pulse Fourier transform technique. The chemical shift of various carbon resonances have been assigned on the basis of the substituent effects on benzene shifts, multiplicities generated in SFORD spectrum and comparison with structurally related compounds.

摘要:
A new hang down fiber for the Faraday magnetic susceptibility set up made out of 50% nylon and 50% quartz is shown to be accurate and precise in the measurement of susceptibilities down to 12°K. The 100% nylon fiber previously employed was shown to deteriorate at the low temperature range. Also, new molar susceptibilities for the calibration standard [HgCo(NCS)4] are given down to 12°K.
